Hey I thought I should reply. I got flagged last autumn for the same and when I went for the colposcopy it said I had grade 3, so very severe changes. I opted to get LLETZ and had to have two treatments and I am glad I did as after the second I was discharged. It’s really stressful but worth having the treatment. I had to stop ttc for a little while while this was all ongoing, but it’s better than getting cancer and I concentrated on just being well and looking after myself and was genuinely a good mental break. I still haven’t caught since I was discharged in March but I’ve been told the LLETZ doesn’t affect fertility or anything - just the stress of it all might impact things. You’ll know more after the colposcopy. It’s just shit and stressful and I’m sorry for you.

sorry forgot to say my colposcopy appointment came through very quickly. I believe the appointment was on 2 week referral as my changes were so bad and that freaked me out in itself. Likewise with LLETZ - within 2 weeks of results letters. So I had colposcopy in late October, first LLETZ in late December and second in February. So it took a few months but it’s important to get the treatment.

Hiya thankyou so much for reply 😊

Did your letter say how bad your changes was before your colposcopy? I recieved my smear results and hospital letter last Tuesday but still no appointment and said can be up to a 8 week wait in the booklet that comes with it it's so stressful waiting I'm driving myself crazy reading into things online sending all the hope your way when your ready to start to ttc again and thankyou so much again for reply it's nice to speak with somebody that went through it recently x

Hi @Demdems! I've had reoccurring HPV for a few years now and had 3 LLETZ procedures - all have been within a couple of weeks of receiving the letter to say high grade changes. Me and my partner decided to TTC after my last LLETZ as we didn't know if it would affect things. We waited the 4 weeks after procedure and then I saw my consultant again who gave us the thumbs up to start trying. I fell pregnant our second month of trying and am now 38 weeks. Had to have a couple of cervical scans which were completely fine but otherwise a normal pregnancy 😊

@Demdems thank you! Was a lot quicker than we expected! iIt was a few years ago so I can't quite remember but I can't remember waiting for a very long time! Because it's been quite an ongoing ordeal my consultant has me on his "tricky ladies" list (🤦🏼‍♀️) so appointments tend to be quite quick now. I hope all goes well and you aren't kept waiting long!
