Ovulation day/implantation dip (chart)

Hi everyone. I'm driving myself mad here.

Can I ask for opinions on when my ovulation day was based on this chart? Going on feeling (sex drive, mittelschmerz) I would say it was CD17. This was also the day I got a positive LH test - or at least what I think was positive. It wasn't quite as dark as the control and certainly not a line-stealer. This is my first cycle TTC and I've never used LH strips before. However, it was definitely darker than the other LH tests this cycle and then dropped off from that point. I'm assuming it was accurate and that I ovulated because of the temp shift afterwards.

I understand that a positive LH test probably puts me ovulating at CD18 (i.e. 24 hours later), and so does the temp shift. Do you think that's accurate?

My other question is the likelihood that the dip at CD26 (8/9DPO) is an implantation dip. This is the day I started getting prickly and stabbing pains on both sides (but not at the same time), nausea and a bad headache, which went into the next day (9/10DPO). I've been testing negative since 8DPO though so I don't understand how I could be having 'implantation symptoms' and apparently generally pregnancy symptoms (nausea) when I can't be producing enough hCG yet? It's 10 or 11DPO now, still negative, and I've got no idea what's going on. Could it be not enough time yet? I've moved from just worrying I'm not pregnant after all to 'wtf is happening to my body' (bolstered by a history of an ovarian cyst that torsioned and cost me a fallopian tube, so I'm worried about the symptoms I'm getting as they aren't as bad as when that happened, but there are similarities).

I don't temp yet so curious what replies you'll get. From bits I've gathered about temping I'd be tempted to say you ovulated cd21 as that's the one that is followed by 3 consecutive raised temps..? But can see why you'd also think day18 and if that fits better with symptoms then 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along so we can both learn something 😂

I've temped before (albeit I've picked most of it up online rather than FAM books so may be flawed knowledge!) and going on symptoms it would be unusual for me to ovulate on CD21 but I can see why you'd think that - I had a similar thought, but I very much have a symptom switch after ovulation and go straight into PMS pretty much 😂 So I know I wasn't ovulating.

I'm wondering if that second rise was actually a group of weird temps from the heat/being a bit stressed because of all this and other things, to be honest. But then I'm even more stressed now and the temps are lower! 🤔

I’d say that your ovulation day was CD18. It is my understanding that it is followed by three sustained rises in temperature, not necessarily that those three have to be higher each time iyswim.

With the LH tests when I see the lines start to get stronger I’ll test in the am, early afternoon and the pm as I get a very quick rise and fall, so if I only tested once a day I’d miss getting a peak reading. Perhaps your LH rise is similarly quick?

Also, I just looked back at my bbt chart the cycle I got pregnant and I had temp dips on 5DPO and 8DPO. I tested positive on 9DPO, so 5DPO must have been implantation, but it was such a faint line even on FRER that I thought it was an indent. I didn’t get a decent FRER until 11DPO and nothing on internet cheapies until after that! So if you implanted on 8DPO it’s possible you might not get a positive result until 12-14DPO depending on the test sensitivity. Everyone’s HCG rises differently too, so it might even be later for you. Basically, if your temp is still higher than pre-ovulation and no period has shown up, you’re not out yet!

@ajayelbee Thank you! That's great to know and really encouraging 😊 Honestly at the moment I just want to know one way or the other and if it's bad news, try and get my head straight to handle this with a bit more sanity next cycle!

My tests are meant to be '6 days sooner' but they're also internet cheapies, so I suppose if I'm pregnant I might get the positive tomorrow, after missing period or anywhere in between!

@atgnat You’re welcome. I hope you get a BFP soon! It’s so hard to be chill around ttc… especially in the tww! Got my fingers crossed for you ☺️
