Multiple LH surges in a cycle anybody?

Does anybody else try to ovulate multiple times in a cycle?

I have had (what my app has said are) positive (not peak) opks on CD20, CD27 and now I am on CD43 with 3 days of positives. I have had a hycosy at the end of April, and transvaginal scan which both show no sign of pcos or other cysts. I have had what I can describe as pelvic/ovulation pain almost daily for the last 3 weeks.

I took iso flavones on CD2-6 with the hope of a bfp or some more regularity to my cycle which hasn't happened...just my luck and story of my life :(

Just wondered if anybody else had multiple lh surges and if so did you get a bfp eventually? Not used contraception for 39 months and getting really down about it. No reasons for not conceiving according to gyno..

Hiya, I do have lean PCOS but it was only borderline diagnosed by my doctor. They did an ultrasound and saw some cysts but they were just under the cusp of what they consider abnormal. I used to get a lot of long cycles at the time. I had literally no other symptoms.

nowadays my cycles are not as long. I will still some months have a 55 day cycle, but a lot more months seem to be in the 38-40 day mark.

i took soy isoflavones last cycle and ended up getting 38 days and very strong ovulation symptoms, most of which were cramps for weeks! So that might be the soy effect. I also had mid cycle spotting, around the same time. I think that was the time my body was repeatedly trying to ovulate. Once that stopped, I had a period 14 days later. So I think eventually it was successful. I did not have sex that month though, so no pregnancy

how much did you take? I took it on the same days as you but actually forgot the last day. So I did 100, 100, 150, 200. I think it may have been too much for me taking it the first time. The mid cycle spotting suggests my body had too much or too little estrogen

perhaps you took too much as well and that’s why it’s actually giving you intense symptoms but no clear ovulation yet? I’ve read many posts on here of people not having a shorter cycle with them, but having a better and stronger ovulation, so if that’s the main thing then it’s okay.

i think ovulation problems can be caused by the pituitary gland and not just cysts in the ovaries. So even without pcos you could have an imbalance causing that. I’d recommend doing a female hormones blood test - agnus castus is good for that type of imbalance.

If the problem isn’t pcos and cyst related then I think soy might just be adding more to the problem, as it works directly on that rather than the signals from the brain. Basically with pcos, you have higher levels of male hormones that prevent female hormones from doing their usual spiking. Without the sharp increase of either estrogen or progesterone, the eggs don’t develop enough, and then they don’t release. It works by making your body thing it has no estrogen at all, and then when you stop taking the supplements, it floods it with estrogen to compensate. The main thing that achieves it causing your eggs to start developing and maturing enough to be released. So if that isn’t your problem - then the soy could just be causing unnecessary side effects and prolonging the cycle more. That’s why I think a blood test is a good idea before choosing the right supplement.

Hey Khanny , my cycle was the same thing month. I've had multiple surges but just didn't properly ovulate. I surged again yesterday and luckily had a scan at the clinic same day and they said it looked like it might have just popped.
I'd probably keep doing the business every time you get a surge just incase

Hi.. I took 120, 120, 160, 160 & 200 of the soy isoflavones. I tried Angus Castus a few months ago too but they also seemed to mess up my cycle. Everything I take after seeing such successful outcomes seems to muck me up.

I might look into a female hormones blood test to see if and what the imbalance is, I got another positive opk today too so that’s 4 days and the most I’ve ever had. Usually I get 1-2 if that x
