Spotting and getting pregnant

Hi everyone,
this will be a long post as I was digging for such info for months and I hope my experience helps someone. Also, sorry for possible mistakes, I am not living in English speaking country, but was so desperate that tried to find info not only in my native language and found this forum.
Since I have ended taking the pill (ca. 5 years ago) I was getting spotting before my period. First it was mild and lasted only 1-2 days, but it got worse with every year and I got to the point when I was having spotting 4-5 days and then menstruation bleeding for 5-7 days. Bleeding for 9-12 days a month is not fun at all I must say. I visited different gynecologists and endocrinologists, did a few blood tests and everyone said everything is fine with me. But a real problem started when me and my husband decided we want to have a baby. At that point I have already had fears that spotting could be some hidden issue and conceiving will not be so easy for me. After a year of trying without any result I was already panicking. My doctor said I should take progesterone (although my progesterone level was fine according to blood work result). After taking it I was bleeding for almost one month with a week pause. In the meantime, my husband also did a check up and the results were not good… I started thinking about IVF, but my husband’s doctor suggested him to take vitamins, change lifestyle, diet etc. After a few months my husband took another test and the results were a lot better. On the one hand, I was really happy, on the other, I just convinced myself that the problem of our failures was me :( A couple of months later I took two weeks off from work just to relax after a really stressful time. During this time I just went for a walk, shopping, did the things I have never had time for. At that time I took vitamin D and all of B vitamins. Also, I did the ovulation tests every day. I know that they are not very accurate, but I wanted to try it out. According to the test I had a very early ovulation- 8th day of cycle, just after my period ended. This would also explain why I normally had ovulation symptoms so early and not on 14th day as it is on average with 27-28 says cycle. This was probably the 18. cycle we were TTC and finally a happy one - I have got my first BFP 🙂 Now I am in the second trimester hoping for smooth labor and healthy baby, but so far so good. Why I decided to write here? Because a year ago I found a thread on this forum were women who were also having spotting shared their experiences and a few of them reported they could get pregnant which was a big support for me at that time (unfortunately can not find this exact thread anymore). Hope my history helps someone (however I do not have any tips or tricks here as I don’t know what helped me) or at least gives hope. Best of luck and fingers crossed for your BFPs 🙂

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I think I read that thread too and it made me feel loads better as I always spotted 4 days before AF but I’m now nearly 30 weeks pregnant so the spotting definitely didn’t stop me either

I hope our stories make some ladies feel better about their spotting
