TTC after miscarriage

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has experienced or has any advice about unusual cycles/symptoms after a miscarriage? Or how long it took you to fall pregnant again? I had a MMC in mid January, I made it to 12 weeks but baby died at 6. Natural miscarriage was incomplete so I had surgical management. This pregnancy was conceived very easily, first try. My cycles before this pregnancy were textbook, 28 day cycles with lots of ewcm around 12-14 days. Ever since my miscarriage, I no longer have any ewcm and have had no luck getting pregnant again, despite DTD at least every other day. I’m not currently tracking ovulation but will start next cycle, but I am concerned I’m not ovulating at all for some reason! My symptoms throughout my cycle are also very different, for example extreme nausea for the week before, during and after my period so I only have one week of feeling normal :( i thought my body would be back to it’s usual self by now after so much time but am I being too optimistic? I have no idea how long things take to settle back down! I was under the impression it might be easier to conceive again after all of this, not harder :(

Hi, I'm in a similar situation. I had a miscarriage in March at 11 weeks. I'm also concerned I'm not ovulating as I haven't had the signs I used to have. I also don't know how long it takes for things to get back to normal - I wasn't given much information at all, just sent home with a leaflet.
Not much advice, just wanted to let you know I understand how frustrating it is. I can only assume our bodies are taking the time they need to recover, which I guess is different for everyone.

I miscarried in April last year after TTC #2. I fell pregnant very easily then, second month, but we’ve been trying since and no success yet. My periods did change, they got much heavier but slightly shorter (from 3 days to 2). My cycles also changed to be slightly less regular, though that was mainly last summer and it’s pretty much settled back to 30 days now (I was consistently 28 before the MC)

I also get extremely bad pain on the right hand side now every cycle. (I got this during the pregnancy that failed and eventually they decided it was a cyst and not ectopic, and I’ve had scans since and they said there’s nothing there now, but the pain continues. I never had it before and I have it every single time now)

i’m so sorry this is hard. I too was under the impression it was easier and I know how gloomy it feelings having it stretch out in front of you 😭

Hi, Sorry to all of you for your losses.
I too can relate to cycles being a bit off since MC. I think for some people it seems like it does take a few months to get back into a more regular cycle. And it’s really hard when everyone tells you you’re more fertile after one but not having any luck.

I had a 10 week MMC similar time to you @strawberry6 back in February. We conceived the second time trying. After the MMC It took me 4 weeks to ovulate again. We conceived again that time but that ended in another miscarriage, even earlier, at 5weeks.

Since then I’ve had another very long 42 day cycle. My current cycle is the nearest it’s been to my pre MC cycles. My pattern of EWCM has changed too.

I’ve started acupuncture since the second miscarriage and I do think that’s helped get my body back into a more normal rhythm this cycle. Maybe that could be worth looking into if you have any people specialised in fertility near you?

The other things that have helped me track my ovulation are opks and temperature monitoring.

It’s really helped me feel less alone in ttc post miscarriage to read all of your stories. Hope we all get good news soon.
