Really short period (regular bleeding) normally 5 days?

Hello

This is my first time posting here so apologies if I'm not super clear, will try my best though!

My husband and I are TTC. I had the coil removed in September last year and then was on the pill until January until we were properly ready. I also have suspected Endometriosis/Adenomyosis so the pill was also to help with those symptoms. Started trying in February and paused for a couple of months whilst I was pursuing a few job opportunities then started again last month. I am aware it really hasn't been that long at all!

My cycles have been pretty standard for the 4 months (25-30 days long) and my periods have gone back to being 5 days long with heavy bleeding the first two days and severe cramps the first two days before petering out. I have also started spotting about 3/4 days before my period is due to start which didn't happen before.

Had the spotting recently (had a cry which was unexpected but guess shows I am keen to have a baby!) and then period came 3 days later. Fairly standard in terms of bleeding but little to no cramping although did feel extremely fatigued.
The weird thing was it literally lasted for two days and then completely stopped?! This has NEVER happened before and I just wondered if anyone had any experiences similar and had any ideas as to what it might mean?!

For info I am 37, tracking with Flo (though I'm not really going off that to be honest) and taking ovulation strip tests which have been positive.

Any/all thoughts very welcome! Thank you!!

Hi OP.

Yes. This cycle my period only lasted 2 days, normal bleeding first day then barely anything the next then completely stopped. Mines usually lasts 4-5 days every month.

this was the weekend past. Apparently it is normal for this to happen but it was the first in all the times I’ve ever had a period so I’m jumping on your thread too, to see if anyone has and idea why this would happen.

sending baby dust to you

@MrsBP15 have you taken a pregnancy test...? I've heard some women get implantation bleeding that is quite like period bleeding (heavier than most places tell you is common)... Don't know but I don't think it would be daft to test just to rule it out!

It’s so weird isn’t it? Probably wouldn’t notice if I wasn’t trying but everything is amplified when it comes to cycles, periods etc. I am wondering about taking a pregnancy test just to put my mind at ease and if it’s negative, I’ll see how next period is (if I don’t get pregnant) and then take it from there!

thank you for the baby dust! The first to be sent my way 😊✨

Thank you. Yes I’ve read about this online so I’m wondering if I might just do it just to put my mind at ease? Good to know either way and if I’m not pregnant I can just see how the next period goes!

I know, i learnt a lot through these forums when starting to TTC and what’s classed as normal and getting advice, it’s great.

I did take a pregnancy test yesterday then to rule it out after seeing someone advise it on here but negative, currently tracking my ovulation now as I’m due to ovulate next week to try this cycle.

you’re welcome!

It's really useful and mostly reassuring on here I have to say. Now I've posted once, I'll probably dip in a bit more with questions.

I'm due to ovulate next week too so if I get a negative pregnancy test, I'll be giving it another bash! Sending you lots of good wishes and baby dust for your next go around!

@MrsBP15 aw we could be TWW buddies if we ovulate around the same time lol.
I ovulate Wednesday / thursday all being well.

I also post more actively around ovulation / my TWW so I have people around the same DPO as me so we can all symptom spot together.

Definitely jump into more threads and join in on waits with people it makes the TWW that little bit easier having people to talk to.

No-one outside of me and my partner know we're trying for a baby so I can't speak to anyone else so it's nice to be on here talking to people.

Keep updated if you take a test & best wishes to you.

I took a test on Friday and that was negative which was fine as it meant I could have a few glasses of champagne to celebrate my husband’s promotion. Swings and roundabouts!🥂

I really hope all goes ok for ovulation for you. I’m still trying to master it all but I think I’m getting there. I’ve basically said we need to start going for it from about Wednesday which is when my mother in law is coming to visit. HA!!

Take care lovely, wishing you all the best x
