How many weeks am I?

I had my BFP this week for Baby 2, and excited but still a bit scared and nervous of the changes ahead.

I have really long cycles, which has made this round of ttc challenging. Past few cycles I have ovulated on Day 26, and period normally comes on Day 40 (which would have been today, but no show, thank goodness).

How do I work out how many weeks I am, bearing in mind late ovulation? Calculators are all telling me I'm 6 weeks because of how long ago my last period started (25th April).

Thanks.

Congratulations! I think officially they will count you from your LMP until the dating scan (which means less time to wait!) but you are probably really only about 4wks as it's 2 wks since conception (this is what you would be if a regular 28 day cycle). They will adjust at the scan and if you're too early for them to check certain things they might need you back in. I'd mention your long cycles at your booking appointment but from what I've heard before they still go by LMP until the scan shows otherwise. Hope all goes well for you 😊

Haha, that's useful to know, thank you!

I had long cycles like you.

At the first scan the date changed by about 10 days so they now count in relation to the new due date IYSWIM.

As PP said, 6 weeks based on the last period but it'll probably change at the scan.

Hey @PlateSpinner23

long cycle lady here too! Technically they go by lmp but I added 2 weeks before the date i ovulated back in 2021 with dd (which would be aprox lmp for a regular 28 cycler) and that was accurate come the 12 week scan!

congrats!♥️
