When can I test?

I’m way ahead of myself here but new to TTC and a bit lost with all the acronyms!

My cycle length is 28-30 days usually, and I think my ovulation peak was 27th May. My last period was 13th May for 3 days, I think next period would be due 11th June.

When is the earliest I can test? I think it’s only more reliable the day after missed period which would be 12th? But have seen other people talking about dpo or similar and luteral phases and I’m really confused!

Thank you! Smile

Hello! You're safest to test the day of or day after your missed period. Some people get positive tests 8, 9, 10 days post ovulation (8dpo, 9dpo etc) but it can drive you crazy seeing the negative tests.

If you ovulated 27th/28th May, you could see a positive test around the 6th or 7th June. Do you use any apps for tracking?

i didn’t get a positive until 18 days after ovulation with my first child! I also had spotting that I thought was a light period.

Thank you! Yes I can definitely see myself driving myself crazy for sure Grin

I was aiming to test 6/7th June as it’s 6 or so days before period but only as an early test and not that reliable, as know I should really just wait until missed period.

and I use Flo to track periods, just the free version

It's so hard to resist! Every day of waiting feels like an age 😂 keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I had a tiny tiny bit of spotting a few days ago which never happens outside of periods for me , and I’ve had some very low level cramps on and off for last few days. I’d assumed it was way too early for any symptoms like that only 6 days after I think I ovulated isn’t it?

Arghhh I know I can think of nothing else even though I’m trying really hard not to, and try and remember it’s probably unlikely to be positive anyway! Maybe the cramps are just nerves and tension
