When can I test (and get a believeable result)?

OK, came off the pill 3 weeks ago, had a small withdrawal bleed, planning to have a mirena coil fitted. DP and I had a bit of an accident last Friday, so when can I do a test (and pray for a BFN) that I can trust?

oh dear bratnav - I am so sorry this has happened . Sometimes even the best laid plans go wrong eh?!

Get some of the sensitive HPTs (25miu is best at early detection I think?!) and try from about 4 days before you are due your AF. Access Diagnostics sells them on t'internet and they work out much cheaper than shop bought and I have found them just as good as more expensive ones.

When I was PG with DD I got a positive test 4 weeks and two days after withdrawal bleed after stopping Pill. About 4 weeks is as good a time as any, but if you had long cycles when off the pill before it might be a bit early, so be prepared to retest if still no AF after 5 weeks? Good luck .

2 weeks after (potential) conception

Use something like a first response - detects 10miu and is the lowest you can get. You look like you might have hit your fertile time....
A rough rule of thumb is that a cycle is 28 days and OV occurs at day 14 (but everyone is different!!) you can test with 1st response 2 days before AF due.... you'll have to work out the dates from when you last took the pill....but keep testing as the only reliable -ve indicator is AF!!!
