Hi all,

Me and my husband decided that we were ready to start our baby journey this year( we are both 30). I have been on the pill around 15 years and havent been having periods regularly if at all for a while. I stopped taking the pill on march 5th and started a 5 day (light) withdrawal bleed on the 12th of March. Since then zilch on the period front. I had a few random ovulation tests that were positive but I don't think this was accurate.
At what point would you be concerned ? Should I seek GP's advice or give it longer ?
I have been loosing weight (1 stone down in 6 weeks) so this may be a factor also.
No symptoms of anything aside from the occasional cramp (very mild)
Thanks all.

Have you taken a pregnancy test? Other than that sometimes it takes a while for things to go back to normal after the pill. Weight loss could be a factor too, but worth asking the GP they might just say to wait a while longer though..

@Tryingtonotworry my period took 12 month to return after the pill, it was a long and stressful wait! I went to the GP after 4 months and they did a blood test which didn't show anything. Then I had a scan after 6 months which showed PCO so I was put on metformin which didn't work. My period finally came back after 12 months once I'd already stopped the metformin but my cycles are still long and irregular so I'm on letrozole now with mixed results.

NHS advice is to see the GP after 3 months with no period, I thought I'd be told to go away and be patient but they took it seriously. Chances are it's all just totally normal and your period will return any day but if there is something wrong it's much better to get in the system asap. If, like me, you end up needing a referral to fertility you will probably need to have been trying for a year so best to get it on your record asap!

Thank you all for your replies, It is very reassuring .
I may need to give it some more time and stress less about it!
I may flag it to my doctor now as that is a good point about getting the ball rolling with how long the NHS can take.

Its disappointing that it is seldom talked about, all the education on how not to get pregnant but never the reverse!

Hello! Feeling very similar to you however I've had my period, just zero signs of ovulation! Been testing twice daily since day after my period... nothing. Sometimes even a big fat zero. Very deflating!
