How quickly do ovulation tests show negative after ovulation?

Hi

I’ve only recently started tracking ovulation (not well!) so am feeling a bit lost! If I think I ovulated around Friday/Saturday/Sunday going by previous dates but on Monday evening my test (digital and strip) was showing no current ovulation and faint line, is it possible I did still ovulate over those days but the levels dropped by Monday evening and not detectable? Or is it more likely it would still be showing if I did ovulate very recently?

I didn’t have tests with me over the weekend and not sure whether I ovulated or not.

My strip tests drop down very quickly after ovulation, I got a positive Friday and Saturday then Sunday was fainter than your strip. Not sure about the digital as the instructions say not to test after a peak reading

Thank you that’s helpful. Would you say my strip isn’t as low as it would be if I hadn’t ovulated? Or is it impossible to say.

Not sure if I’ll get more answers on conception board or if MNHQ are able to move it?

Hi @Waveyduck mine normally drop quickly after the peak. Got mine Monday evening, the next morning it was dropping a bit and then the next morning really low.

Not quite sure what you mean by "isn’t as low as it would be if I hadn’t ovulated?" Any LH detected throughout the month is irrelevant really - you often have a second line on lh tests but they are ONLY positive when as dark or darker than the control line. Anything else is just by the by. Also, although they indicate ovulation is about to happen, they can't confirm that it definitely has. You would need to check bbt or progesterone for that.
