About to TTC DC2 at 39

I'm on CD2 and we're planning to start TTC DC2 this cycle. I'm 39 in a couple of weeks I'm feeling a little apprehensive about how long things might take this time. I conceived DS1 at 36 within 5 months which included a really sad MMC. Anyone else in a similar boat and want to share the journey?

Would love some positive stories about conceiving at 39 too...appreciate this has no impact on my chances of conceiving, just nice to hear about! Baby dust to those who need it!

Hello and good luck! I'm 37 and conceived on my 3rd cycle. Unfortunately this one recently ended with a MMC mid-April. I've just finished AF and want to TTC again asap (which I couldn't have imagined in the immediate aftermath but here we are...). I have a DS (turned 2 in Jan) who I conceived on 4th cycle so was actually quicker with my 2nd! I had also been slightly unsure what to expect due to my age. Really hoping it won't be too long again, although additional nerves now too around loss etc. Anyway, very happy to share the journey of you'd like to! 😊

I’m 36 and sort of started in Feb for #2 but for various reasons (illness, travel etc) we only managed one real good try! Had a months break as I’ve a weekend away with a friend and then cracking back on.

I feel very apprehensive. #1 was 4 cycles so fairly average but I really feel like #2 might be tricky - that said I was a bloody drama queen about the first! We’ve said that we’ll give it to end of the year and then accept we just have our daughter if no luck!

Hey im 37 .. 38 start of july ttc #2 first baby was 6 years ago so bit of a jump got preg with her straight off pill within 2 weeks. Stupidly believed same this time round .. nope. Whilst this is only my third cycle lol the first one i had about 3 surges and skipped a whole period. 2nd cycle had a chemical. N now 1dpo waiting so crossing fingers for this one! Sucha whirlwind of emotions! Loathe the waitin around which seems like bloody forever lmao i was also a symptom spotter n test early so this one im jus waitin on af to rear her ugly head as im jus like meh wat will be will be lol 😆

@SnookyPook really sorry to hear about your mmc. As long as you feel ready that's the main thing, I was the same after mine I remember. Everything crossed for next time. Yes it's hard to shake off worries about loss after you've had one, its definitely on my mind too. I also have a DS BTW, he's 17 months! Boys are fab.

@ricketybeauty yes same, we've said if we're just meant to be 3 then that's ok as we're such a tight little unit we'll still have a great life. I say that now, but I remember from last time how much ttc can take over so I'm really trying to keep my over thinking in check! Ha

@Freya8 so sorry about your chemical. Everything crossed for this month!! The waiting is the worst!

Are you guys trying anything new this time? I'm taking prenacare conception vitamins and drinking raspberry leaf tea (only because I like it, but recently read it might help implantation?! Who knows).

I'm failing at trying not to think about it continuously! Hehe We've had quite a few pregnancy announcements recently by family and friends which I think makes it more present if you know what I mean. I'm hoping work this week will be a good distraction. We're also getting married in 5 weeks so trying to get last minute planning sorted!

I'm 38 and pregnant with my second. Unfortunately had a mmc in December but I got pregnant again next cycle in January. Due in October.

I'll be 39 when baby is due.

I'm 36 pregnant with DC2 took 5 cycles this time, first baby was first cycle. I learnt to trust in the process as a difficult as l found it. Going on holiday definitely helped me get my positive!!

My mum had me at 39 and my sister at 42. No pregnancy complications and we both came out healthy! xxx
