Ovulation tests not getting darker

Hiya

I'm using the app flo and it's said I should expect to ovulate today but I'm tracking it and the lines aren't getting darker.
I'm cycle day 13 and had a normal period last month. Prior to that I was on the pill, I've been off of the pill for about 5-7 weeks.
I'm panicking that we won't be able to conceive and I don't really know whether this month is out for me? I'll attach a photo. (two of the days got slightly damaged in the book but they were the same line)

Mine never got darker at all. My LO is now nearly 6 months old so I must have ovulated!!!

Could easily be a slightly later ovulation month it isn't always going to be like clockwork just keep testing.

Do you know when you normally ovulate or is this your first time tracking? I had a shock when I started testing for ovulation, to find I don't ovulate until CD19-21! Conceived 3 babies after realising when I actually ovulate.

This is my first month tracking, so really using the app which predicts but trying to do these tests too! That's really good to know!

I'm not sure how the app works, but is it just going off average ovulation time for its prediction? If so that will be day 10-14, but that is literally just an average and is not even close to being accurate for a number of people.

I don't think you are out yet at all, keep testing 😊

Cindy1802 · 25/05/2023 09:24

Also how long is your cycle normally?

Imogen94 · 25/05/2023 09:54

Well I was on the pill so only started tracking really last month. My first month off the pill (last month) was 25 days. Pre pill it was 28 so hoping it's balancing back out.

Flo just goes off an average 28 day cycle with ovulation predicted for day 14. It is just that, an average. As you track more and input more data into the app it will become more familiar with your cycles and predict better so please don’t be disheartened. My cycles can be between 29-32 days. I usually get a positive ovulation test on day 15/16. Last month I didn’t ovulate until day 21. Really thought I wasn’t going to ovulate that month but I kept testing and it did happen eventually and my cycle ended up being 34 days. I was quite stressed at work so I’m assuming that’s why. Keep testing and you’ll likely get your peak. I also have quick surges, I don’t personally see the line gradually darkening. It’ll be light in the morning and then positive in the afternoon and then negative the next morning so you could also be like that where this afternoon you just get a positive test. Xx
