Long cycle after miscarriage??

Hey guys,
I had a miscarriage on the 17th of April. We began trying again straight away and I was tracking my ovulation just through LH surge sticks. I got a peak on the 7th of May (CD 21) . I generally have 32-35 day cycles. I was CONVINCED I was pregnant , had cramping on one side 8dpo, very full and sore breasts, nausea etc . So was very surprised to have a BFN. I done one last test this morning (16DPO) as my period is late and I have some brown tinged CM (sorry TMI) . This would be unusual for me so just assuming it’s down to my miscarriage and that’s why my cycle is so messed up? Currently CD 37 .. anyone else have any experiences like this?

How many weeks were you when you miscarried? Any miscarriage can mess up your cycles. I had a MMC in January at 14 weeks and cycles have only just properly gone back to normal. Was still ovulating and having cycles but they were abit off for period lengths etc. First AF after miscarriage didn't come for 5-6 weeks x

Aren't you told to only start trying to conceive again earliest 3 months after miscarriage? And not have sex for at least a month after it?

@Jaichangecentfoisdenom I was told to wait 3 weeks and then try to concieve again if that's what I wanted. It depends on the individual and how the miscarriage went x

Hey, that might be the case for some people but I had a very natural miscarriage at 7 weeks so my GP advised to not have sex for 2 weeks and then I was okay to begin TTC again. Probably depends on the circumstances . X

This happened to me!! I ovulated on CD25 and got BFP on CD35.

Usually a 30/31 day cycle

happened to me, i was CD64 when i finally got a positive after testing literally multiple times a day from around CD28 🙈 mc had just totally screwed with my ovulation

I was 7 weeks with a natural miscarriage, so that makes sense that this cycle is running late! The discharge threw me off a bit so wasn’t sure! That’s reassuring hopefully it returns to normal soon thank you 😃 x

The guidance has changed, I had the surgery after one in 2018 and was told to wait for my cycle to return. Same happened again in Jan 2023 and was told by the consultant to start again straight after surgery if I was ready.

I had late miscarriages (which affected my mental as well as my physical health). The timing is probably the difference, thank you for the info.

@beachmum1 - mine were in the nineties, makes sense things have changed nowadays, I suppose.

Oh wow really!! So you just ovulated super late after the miscarriage is it? I’m just assuming I ovulated due to my peak test but I know that doesn’t guarantee ovulation! So it’s hard to know? Will temp in next cycle maybe!

this cycle I believe I got my period after a 39 day cycle! I think the miscarriage messed me up a bit, I then got pregnant the next cycle and am currently 16 weeks! 😃👍

@Kilminchy123 congratulations 🥳 💛 that's awesome. I had a miscarriage on the 24th of July. AF arrived 3 weeks later, now Im supposedly 15DPO according to the OPKs but nothing happening, so last AF was 9ver 5 weeks ago. I'm having that brown tinged CM that you mentioned but it's been there for about 5 days now with mild cramping and such sore boobs. It all seems seriously out of whack 🥲
