2 Years TTC

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can give me some advice. my husband and I have been TTC for 2 years now with no luck. I ovulate regularly and have regular periods. My dr has confirmed this with a blood test and gave me a gynae referral but the waiting list is over 3 years long.

my husband is going to contact the gp this week to have his tests done but can anyone advise what tests he will get? Will he just have to go on a waiting list too or can the gp do male tests?

if his tests come back all clear I was thinking of paying for a private HyCoSy. Does anyone know if we paid for this would this bypass the gynae wait please?

thanks in advance for any help or advice!!

I don't know I'm sorry - maybe you would have more luck on the infertility board? Hope someone can help you. X

Hello,

I'm unsure if paying for a private hycosy would bypass the wait but I would personally look at going private regardless. The nhs wait times are huge unfortunately and if you do need surgery they are even longer (in my personal experience anyway) :(

How old are you both? X

Thank you both for your responses! Yes that is a good idea about trying the infertility board, thanks.

yes I think I will try the private Hycosy as I have heard some people fall pregnant after it and go from there depending on my husbands test results too. We are 27 and 32

@CloudySky82

It's an awful position to be in - I've been trying for two years too but I've had surgeries in between. Hopefully you will get answers soon ♥️

Thank you. Maybe naïve but It’s not something we ever considered would be an issue for us so it’s been a bit of a shock. Good luck to you too ❤️

Your husband will likely get a sperm test from the GP, it's one of the criteria for the referral so would need doing before you're seen anyway! Mine got given a kit by the GP and booked a drop off time slot at the local hospital, the sample had to be "produced" less than 2 hours before the time. We got DH's results about 2 weeks later through the post and googled the healthy ranges of things to compare and it all tallied with what the doctor said when we were eventually seen!

@CloudySky82

Same, never ever ever did I think I'd be in this position. Always here if you want to private message/scream ♥️x
