Ovulating after miscarriage

Can someone please help?

I had a silent miscarriage 2 and a half weeks ago, and had to take the medicine to start my miscarriage happening. Going by my period dates I would have been 11 weeks pregnant, however I had been for a scan where I got to hear babies heartbeat and they said that I was measuring 2 weeks earlier than my pregnancy dates..

When I went for another scan after feeling something was wrong, they confirmed there was no longer a heartbeat and I'd had some blood and urine tests taken the night before which they said showed my HCG was quite low. They couldn't tell me how many weeks I was when the heartbeat stopped as unfortunately the embryo had started to shrivel.

However... I am still testing positive on pregnancy tests! Both the line tests, and digital tests. The digital test says 1-2 weeks so that would suggest my hcg has dramatically dropped.

I want to test for ovulation, and my first couple of clear blue ovulation tests showed the low fertility result, but the last 2 have shown high fertility. Do we think I'm just seeing high fertility because I'm still testing positive on a pregnancy test and it's just getting confused? Or am I going to see peak fertility and ovulate in a couple of days?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Just to add - I had a scan exactly a week after miscarriage as I was having pains and they told me it looked like everything had passed.

It's unlikely your body will ovulate again until you're testing negative on HCG tests.
So so sorry for your loss, I had a missed miscarriage at 14 weeks in January so definitely feel your pain. It's the worst thing to go through x

I'm so sorry for your loss, there are no words about how soul crushing it is and I hope you are doing ok. I've had two losses and for the second loss, it took 8 weeks for me to ovulate again. I was testing positive on a preg test and ovulation test for a good while after the loss.

I had a MMC in March and suffered from retained products following medical management. Suffered from very high temperature, sweats and positive tests through to 5 weeks when I naturally passed the rest, My period came 1 day after I passed the remaining tissue and EPU asked me in for a scan as I called them worried about the follow up bleeding. Continued testing faint positive for a few weeks after that too. Ovulated late the following cycle around day 22 instead of day 16/17 and currently in the TWW.

I had medical management at 10.5 weeks but baby stopped developing at 5.5 weeks. Since our bodies didn't respond at hcg peaks around 10 weeks it takes longer than average to resettle.

Firstly, sorry for your loss lovely that must’ve been so difficult.
So ovulation tests will show positive if you have hcg in your system. With my miscarriage mine showed positive even after I was having negative pregnancy tests for a good few days.
I would wait until you have complete negative pregnancy tests to check if ovulating again.
It took me 6 weeks from my negative pregnancy tests to ovulate again but some people do ovulate more quickly. It just took a while for my body to get back to normal x

Thank you everyone for your help. So my next question is....

The tests that I'm using are the super sensitive 6 day early tests. The digital is saying pregnant 1-2 weeks, and the not digital 6 day early is showing a very very very very faint line

Sorry cut myself off there! I have attached a pic of the test.

If I start doing the not so sensitive ones I have a feeling they won't show a positive line... so how long do I go on like this?!

I'm so tired of it all :(

I would just try and step away from the tests and do one in a weeks time, same clear blue test so you know it’s the same sensitivity x

I agree step away from the tests for a mo and met yourself heal. Try not to ttc for one month to give your body a chance. Its hard I know but important.
