+OPK and EWCM at CD25

Hoping someone might be able to help me - Google results are a minefield!

ive been ttc for 8 months with no luck (suspected chemical preg in feb but not confirmed). This month I’ve been tracking ovulation using opks, but every single test has been negative so far. I did get headaches and bloating on CD14 and opk was dark but not positive. Did another 24 hours later (have only recently read I should be doing them twice daily!) and it was defo negative, and it stayed negative since then. as we’re ttc we still bd’d regularly that week in case I just missed the surge.

yesterday (CD25) I felt a lot of cramping, felt a bit sick, and had some Ewcm, so I did another opk - which was positive (test line was as dark as control line).

my cycles are always 28-30 days so I’m so confused. Am I ovulating this late in my cycle?!? AF is due by the end of the week so I’m worried that if this is ovulation, my luteal phase is so short that I don’t stand a chance.

just wondered if this has happened to anyone else and if so, what did you do? :(

It could be that you missed your surge if you were only testing twice a day, and the positive test now is a second estrogen surge.

Or it could be late ovulation like you say. The good thing is that your LP doesn't change so if you ovulate today, your period will be due in 14 days from now. I had a weird cycle a few months ago and ovulated day 25 instead of the usual day 16. My period came on day 37.

a second estrogen surge might happen? I’m going to do another OPK in another hour or so to see if it’s still positive/dark.

@Ttcmumma i didn’t know that! I haven’t done a pregnancy test yet but that’s interesting. I try to hold off on those until/if AF is late because I become obsessive otherwise 😂

Could be your lucky month! Let us know what happens. Would be interesting to see if you get your bfp after the positive opks too 😊

Estrogen surges can happen in the LP and are pretty nornal, it can cause EWCM just before your period and strong OPKs. Definitely let us know about the pregnancy test! Some women get those before their BFPs like pp said.

I know what you mean about being obsessive, every month I'm like oh this is a new thing 🤣

Just did another OPK and it’s very dark although not quite positive I don’t think. Having pretty bad cramps this evening too so I think it must be AF on the way - although it is a bit early (CD28 will be Wednesday and I don’t normally get cramps until CD1).

trying to be patient because another negative test might tip me over the edge 😂
