Low progesterone?

I am ttc #1, and since stopping the pill last year have noticed that I quite consistently spot the week before my period, usually from about 7 DPO. The spotting usually stops for a couple of days before my actual period starts. I suffer with bad cramps and when I get these I know it’s my period.

I am reading up a lot on low progesterone, I have made an appointment with my gp but am wondering if anyone has managed to conceive with this or similar symptoms? And if there is anything I can do in the meantime to help? I am a healthy weight, eat a reasonable diet, do plenty of exercise etc (only saying this as I’ve read this can cause the problem).

Hi @Paws09 I'm ttc #1 too. Have you had blood tests done? Got my bloods back last week and progesterone was low. GP is going to refer to fertility clinic. It doesn't seem that we can get it in the UK without prescription, only if seen privately, EPU or consultant. I've jad a bit of a Google and there are apparently some foods that can help promote progesterone levels

@Paws09 Hello! I know this is an older threat but wondered how you had got on with your GP?
Im in a similar situation of TTC after a chemical in December and a mmc in March. After my mmc, I seem to start spotting from about 7dpo but this month I starting to bleed for a few hours at 6dpo. It was fairly light (but bright red) and a little worrying.
I think it’s now time I make a GP appointment and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks 😊

Hey, I was booked in the see the GP for bloods snd swabs next week after I had a consultation on the phone. However on Sunday I got my BFP 😬 Early days but hopefully it sticks. On the cycle I did have bleeding from 4DPO but it stopped a few days later, which prompted me to test when AF didn’t arrive. Hopefully gives you some reassurance as it hasn’t stopped me conceiving, at least.
