TTC and losing the plot already

Hey all,

New to the world of TTC and finding it really difficult already. I came off Microgynon after 13 years at the end of February and started NC. Periods resumed as normal and I’ve been trying to track ovulation. First month I didn’t detect an LH surge but last month I did for 48 hours (but no rise in temperature). This month nothing- not even a darkening line.

I am such a worrier and am losing my mind already. I am worrying that I’m not ovulating and every month is just dragging and making me worry even more that there’s something wrong.

I know it takes couples varying amounts of time and not to worry until a year in- but it’s hard when all of my friends start trying/miss one pill and end up pregnant. I just fear there’s something wrong with me.

Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone else struggled to detect ovulation after coming off the pill?

For reference I’ve been tracking my temp rises and cycles

We started trying in Jan. I know it's hard but I'm personally avoiding any tracking for at least 6 months, to help me stay sane. It's likely your body will take a while to adjust from being on the pill that long. So much is pure chance so try and focus on other parts of your life in the meantime.

@LondonGirl1992 I’m currently TTC number 2 and I find TTC very draining and emotionally difficult. I track ovulation using the clear blue smiley face sticks just as piece of mind that we’re having sex at the optimum times. I can’t offer any other advice other than to make sure you’re speaking to your partner about how you feel as you’re both going through this together. I conceive after 8/9 month on my first and we were actually waiting for private fertility testing when we found out. Good luck!

I agree with this. Tracking as soon as I came off the pill stressed me out so much. I never tracked ovulation with sticks or checking my temperature or anything like that, I just used the Flo app. It took a year from coming off the pill to conceive my first - I think it just took so long for my cycle to regulate!

It took me over a year to conceive baby number 1 and I’m now 11 months into to TTC number 2.

it’s draining and it’s emotionally hard. But try not to worry about it too much yet. You’re still very early on in your journey and your body is still probably regulating itself after stopping the pill xx

I started TTC #1 in Feb too. Currently on cycle 5 with no joy. For me I have some gynea problems and am over 35 so do temp/use sticks.

Don't have much advice other than I get how you feel, and you'll get a lot of support on here.

Hopefully you won't be waiting long.

Just thought I’d follow up on this incase anyone is feeling how I was back in may and is losing hope… I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant and it did happen for me! So good luck to everyone else in the same boat, it’s worth the wait to get that positive test believe me! ❤️

@LondonGirl1992 congratulations! Did you manage to track your ovulation in the end? I'm TTC my first, I came off the patch in January and I am having no luck finding a peak. I don't seem to get any ovulation symptoms either. It's making me panic that my body is failing me. I feel like I'm going a bit crazy.

Not really no! The bloods I had were quite inconclusive and I never had the rise in temp etc… I just think the reality is that the pill took a while to come out of my system! It’s so stressful isn’t it?

Great to hear a success story ☺️ how many goes did it take you if you don’t mind me asking? We’re entering our fourth cycle and it’s so disheartening!

I came off the pill last February so March was my first month TTC and it happened for me in August. I found it mega disheartening and just assumed because it took so long that it’d never happen, but it did! I’m now 34 weeks pregnant and due next month :)
