Should I be afraid, has anyone down this before successfully?

Are you pregnant again already or are you planning to TTC?

The advice I got from my Consultant is that I should wait at least 1 year to get pregnant (and ideally 18-24 months).

Getting pregnant before then carries a greater risk of complications, uterine rupture, placenta acreta (where the placenta gets embedded in the scar and doesn’t come away properly which can lead to a major hemorrhage and in worse case scenario an emergency hysterectomy) and premature birth.
All these things are still fairly uncommon but it will be a higher risk pregnancy and delivery (and a VBAC is less likely to be an option due to the increased risk of uterine rupture).

Honestly if you’re not already pregnant then I’d wait a bit (the very minimum suggested gap is 6 months, but most doctors/research suggests 12+ months). Also I had very easy babies and was keen to get pregnant again at 3 months- however when the 4 month sleep regression hit I was very glad I waited!

Not me personally but a friend got pregnant 7 months after a c section and that was through ivf, so they obviously knew about it. Not the same as 3 months though!

I was hoping to heal for a longer time but if it really happens I'll have to hope for the best.

Yes pregnant 12 week post caesarean so a year and 5 days age difference. I had another elective caesarean but otherwise all was well.

Thank you so much for sharing. Fingers crossed I will let y'all know the outcome of the test in about two weeks.
