Anyone else?

We've discussed it for a loooong time, and this month have started TTC with #1.
I get so excited about the prospect of being pregnant and then this looming fear creeps over about the birth and it's petrifies me.. I get into a real panic, to the point it almost makes me think no, I don't want to do it....

is this normal??
All my friends have had babys, I'm one of the last. But none of them ever really spoke about this, atleast not with me, maybe because I wasn't pregnant or had a baby..

Is your fear specifically about the birth itself?
Would it be less scary to consider an elective c section?

For me, the birth is a bit daunting but the joy of having a baby far outweighs this, so I don't really think about it.
I'm also optimistic that I'll have a lovely, calm, empowering labour... you never know!

Hello! Thank you for replying, of course... I do have jitters about being a mother, first time and all.. it's daunting! In all honesty, more financially and juggling everything than the actual being a mum part...

But it's the birth that terrifies me! I have read up quiet a lot on elective c sections and have pretty cub made my mind up that I think that would be the best thing for me, for my mental well-being at least: but I'm worried because I know that hospitals seem so against allowing you that option!
