Very very very weak positive

I think I know the answer, but forgive a desperate woman for asking.

I’ve been trying for over a year, and had my regular period last weekend. But have had a bit more sporadic very very light spotting this week. Tinged pink mucus. Hadn’t thought much of it but had a bit more pinkish today and for some reason I thought I’d test. There is a very very very faint line on the test. It’s barely even noticeable but it’s there.

If I were pregnant, I would probably be 5 weeks by now so I assume a line would be much more prominent and my ‘period’ was pretty heavy.

Assume maybe it was a chemical?

I don’t know what I’m asking. Just a bit depressed I suppose as somehow it’s worse knowing maybe I was close then just assuming nothing took at all. I don’t think I’m even expecting anyone to share positive stories. Just feeling a bit sad about the whole thing.

I guess you haven't taken an ovulation test this cycle? It is possible that you ovulated late in the cycle and are less than 5 weeks ❤️ I agree that the line should be darker at 5 weeks but then, I heard various stories and unless you when you ovulated, it's too early to say that all is lost.
I'll keep my fingers crossed x

I understood OP, you're wondering if the "period" last week wasn't really a period.

While this could be a MC, I'd also be considering an ectopic, so maybe worth getting hcg levels checked / a scan if you get another positive.

I'd use a frer in the morning to see if there's a line.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear before. To clarify - I had a usual 4 week cycle which ended in a normal period (length and heaviness normal).

A week into my ‘new’ cycle I’m testing positive. It feels like the bleeding I had was too heavy for implementation bleeding, not that I’ve had it before, so I’m assuming either chemical, early miscarriage or eptopic.

becuase the test is so faint and the bleeding was so heavy, I’m assuming it’s not good news.

as advised I’ll go out today and get some more tests, and try again tomorrow morning

Do you have more of the same tests at home?
It can get tricky when you compare line progression between different brands. I would just take another easy at home tomorrow morning x
