Period a week late, tests are negative

My period is a week late, and I have felt nauseous, bloated and tired for the last 4 days or so, so I “feel” quite pregnant. However, I have taken 4 pregnancy tests across different days and all have been negative.

I can’t imagine that I would still be getting so many false negatives after a week, has this happened to anyone? Could I still be pregnant? Could it be a super early miscarriage, so I never built up enough of the hcg but for some reason my body hasn’t expelled it yet? Or, just something else? (I’ve been fairly regular for the last 6 months or so after DS was born 2 years ago, so it feels unusual!)

For context, we weren’t actually TTC but had discussed trying for DC2 in a few months after some family events and a house move.

You could have ovulated later, meaning it’ll push your period due date back as well; if so, might be too early to rest HCG

You could have ovulated later, or your period could just be late or skipped, it’s not uncommon even if you’ve never had it before

I don’t have anything particularly helpful to offer but am in a similar boat, so just chiming in some solidarity!

Which tests did you take, did you get FRER?

Thank you, yes it could just be late for another reason, I’ll have to keep testing just in case the HCG levels aren’t high enough yet due to late ovulation or something!

BatildaB hope you manage to solve the mystery soon too!! I did take FRER tests for the first two then just used tesco own for the second two (somehow made sense to me as I was nearly a week late by then!) maybe I should try more FRER next!
