TTC after laparoscopy

Anyone else TTC following a laparoscopy for endometriosis? I had my op for stage 4 endo at the start of March, and this is our first month trying since. Referral to the fertility clinic is in June so trying our best to take advantage of the fact I should be quite fertile in the months following my op. We’ve gone all out and done SMEP this month, I’m soooo tired 😂.

anyone else in a similar position?

Ooo I am! Had a laparoscopy 2 days ago - went for a suspected hydrosalpinx however turned out i didn’t have this but I have endometriosis instead (no symptoms and was not expecting endo at all!). However the surgeon said he’d removed it and that I could ttc straight away so….let’s see!

I am already ready to go with the ivf clinic next month anyway so just deciding whether to jump straight into ivf or give the natural conception route a few months first? I’m 34 and have a low Amh/afc so don’t want to waste too much time 😊

good luck needed for both of us 🥰

Sending you both good luck. My DS was conceived this way, he is now 16! I had a laparoscopy with endo burned away and my ovaries drilled (due to pcos). I had a period straight after, then 2 weeks later had ovulation pain, so we dtd and.......we conceived. After 2 years of zero success.

Best of luck!!

@confuzzzzzled - yes I did! Had a big surgery for endo then conceived first time.
Wishing you all the luck in the world sweetheart x

Hi @confuzzzzzled
I had a laparoscopy at the beginning of April - they found and removed lots of Endo and also drilled some ovarian cysts, as an ultrasound before the op found 31 ovarian cysts too.

I was told that due to the chronic inflammation both my fallopian tubes are blocked. You'll think I'm mad, but I'm approaching AF now and still can't help wondering if something magic happened and I have conceived, even though I know our only option is now IVF, due to start beginning of July.

It's a totally wild ride, wishing you all the best, fingers crossed for you! Where are you in your cycle now?

hi everyone!! I’ve had some promising signs this month but holding out to test for another few days. The stories about conceiving quickly are giving me hope, im really hoping im gonna be one of those people who gets a positive test JUST before their fertility referral!

ive heard laparoscopy’s are good for clearing it all out so I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!! Sometimes even checking the tubes can clear them a bit and make some magic happen!

@confuzzzzzled how are you ? Did you get pregnant? X

Kaleidoscopeofbutterflies · 23/12/2023 13:24

I had Endometriosis after my first child.. wanted a second. Had miscarriage.. had ectopic.
Had laparoscopy and one tube and ovary removed. Had PCOS.. told I'd never have another baby.. eight years later l conceived naturally without trying.
Daughter is now 30.
I had totally hysterectomy one year after having her.
Good luck.
Don't give up.

Babyroobs · 23/12/2023 13:26

Also wishing you good luck. My ds was conceived 24 years ago the month after having lap and dye test and being told tubes completely blocked and little chance of conceiving.

confuzzzzzled · 24/12/2023 00:00

Just wanted to update this for anyone who might be searching for the answers in every.single.post like I was!

I had my laparoscopy, period came 2 days later, and I conceived 2 weeks after that! I’m now snuggling my 5 month old baby girl 😊 if you’re reading this when ttc - don’t give up hope ❤️ it’s the hardest experience I’ve been through but it has all been worth it! ❤️
