Aching joints and implantation?

Hi there,

I’m 7 or 8 days post ovulation so it’s very early for implantation to have happened (though not impossible). I’m trying to work out if I’ve got a virus or not! I have aching joints; my fingers, wrists, knees, hips, ankles, feet, hands and even lower back (and I never get lower back pain). I am also bone tired and going to bed at 8pm.

Has anyone else had these symptoms as part of early pregnancy or have I just picked up a virus? I guess a test is the best way to know but I believe it’s too early to test now. Thank you :)

Watching with interest. I had a miscarriage on 14th April and assuming I have actually ovulated afterwards I assume I'm about 8-11 DPO. I lot of the pregnancy symptoms I had before the miscarriage have come back - feeling tired, occasional insomnia at night, feeling hungry when going to bed, random warm feeling all over with pins and needles that comes on suddenly then goes after a few seconds, hip pains etc. The last few days I've had the odd pain here and there in my boobs and public bone and yesterday 2 or 3 times I had this horrible pain in my left shin and earlier my wrist started hurting. I did a FRER yesterday but was BFN although was probably far too early and I didn't use FMU either so going to test again on Tuesday morning so I will update then. Trying not to read too much into the random pains though as our bodies love to trick us!

Ooh @WhiteHorse92, that’s interesting to hear you’re about the same place in your cycle with the same symptoms. I hope you have good luck this cycle. I’m also very sorry to hear of your miscarriage; I hope you’re doing as well as possible xx

Any update? Still getting random pains. Have had it in pubic bone again, right shin, thumbs and shoulders and hips. Did another Frer yesterday morning (assuming about 10-12 DPO) but BFN. Pretty sure I'm not pregnant so just waiting for AF now.

Hi @WhiteHorse92, thanks for checking in. I’m sorry you’re still getting pains and that you got a BFN; all that and not for what you want!

I’ve actually JUST tested and it’s a BFN. There is a faint second line but I think it’s in the wrong place so must be an evap line.

Hope you’re doing ok?

Yeah doing okay, at least if AF turns up I know everything's getting back to normal post miscarriage. I guess we're not out til it turns up though!

WhiteHorse92 · 20/05/2023 14:01

Hey just checking in, did you ever retest or did it turn out to be BFN?

Feliciacat · 20/05/2023 22:32

Hi! I did retest and it was a BFN. I then got my period the next day so that’s that! How are you doing? I’m getting married on Thursday so hoping this will be our month!

Hi! Well I did another test yesterday (10 days after previous one) as still no AF and got a BFP! Keep getting shooting pains in my pubic bone and up until the last couple of days was still getting pains in my shins and ankles and random pains elsewhere now and again in random parts, maybe it's just coincidence rather than a pregnancy symptom.

That's great you've got something amazing to look forward to on Thursday! I'm not even excited about the pregnancy I'm just blanking it out and just taking each day as it comes until the 12 week scan, I don't want to get my hopes up again after the miscarriage last time. I'm just looking forward to my holiday in a couple of weeks and one of my close friends told me today she's expecting her first after 3 years of trying and I'm so happy for her so I've got stuff to keep me occupied!

Feliciacat · 21/05/2023 22:36

Oh wow! That’s incredible! Congratulations on the BFP. How nice also that you and your friend get to be pregnant at the same time. I hope you get to the 12 week scan ok, I can see why you’d be cautious. Everything crossed for you xx
