Evaporation lines?

Hi,

My boyfriend and I are trying to conceive for the first time. Do these look like evaporation lines? The faintest one was taken yesterday and the darker one this morning. I think they are evap lines (I'm fairly certain they came up after the time limit, but it threw me that the second one was quite strong).

Thanks!

If they came up after the time then you have to discount them.
Could you retest but use a timer/alarm so you read it in time?

Line is visible maybe wait a few days then test again? Have you tested on the first day of your missed period?

PlateSpinner23 · 02/05/2023 23:30

They would be pretty strong for evaps, especially the second one!

Look positive to me. How long after do you think it was?

Thank you all :)

I think they were evaporation lines as I took a test this morning and it was negative in the time frame. Will test again in a week just to be sure as I'm cramping and having light pink blood - it shouldn't be a period but hard to tell as I have PCOS and sometimes get two periods a month, other times none.

Evap lines aren't supposed to have colour @cth96 , but blue dye tests can be a bit of a pain for them.

Can you get a pink dye test, preferably a FRER?

I was confused by the colour too but this morning's was negative in the time frame with a really faint (I think???) line after the time frame (below). I have ordered FRER to come tomorrow just to be sure they're evap lines - thank you for recommending.

Another question - if you have an implantation bleed, is it normal to get cramps too? I have had the tiniest amount of pale pink blood but I also have cramps.

With my first I had a bit of bleeding and cramps for the first few weeks after finding out. I kept thinking I was coming on. Best of luck x

Thank you! Just to confirm the Clear Blue lines were evaporation lines. Will not be using them anymore. Thank you to those who recommended red dye tests - this was my test this morning - a definite negative!
