Signs you’re not ovulating?

DH and I are TTC #1, I came off the pill last July but we weren’t TTC seriously until we got married in January. Before we were being careful with condoms as I didn’t want to be pregnant on the wedding. My cycles are still quite irregular and I’m worried I’m not ovulating.

Im using OPKs but the line never really gets darker, currently on CD20 and it hasn’t got darker at all really since testing around CD10. My cycles have been as long as 38 days and as short as 28 since stopping the pill. I tried temp tracking but could never get a consistent reading with the natural cycles thermometer! Sometimes I get the egg white discharge but not always. I do get very sore heavy boobs in the week before my period, I don’t have these yet. Would this happen if I wasn’t ovulating?

What were some signs you were or weren’t ovulating? I’ve basically got it in my head that I’m infertile!

I would recommend the premom app if you don't already have it. You can take a pick of you ovulation strip test and upload and it tells you the rough LH reading. I found this easier than just doing it by eye. Do you take 2 tests a day? Some peoples LH peak is very quick.

For example when TTC #2 on one month I had positive tests for 3 days. The next month I only had 1 positive test and was testing twice a day so could easily have missed that. It's normally recommended to test around 10am ish and early evening. Try not to worry about not ovulating as maybe your peaks are very quick and your missing it? X

I think the clear blue ovulation test strips are so much better than other cheaper OPKs - only because sometimes I think the lines can be hard to read. With the digital clearblues you get a clear result. It helped me a lot as I had very similar issues.

Thanks everyone I have been testing twice per day, doing the cheap ones as the clear blue is expensive! Using the premom app but my reading hasn’t been above 0.5 yet

I read quite alot about the OPK tests and they can cause more stress for people with irregular periods sometimes. My peak was just over 0.8 and someome told me the more i test each month the more the app reconfigures to my cycle, knowing which is a peak number for me. I read a few people do the tests who are ovulating but cant seem to get over 0.5, but they have confirmed they are ovulating.

Because you may just be having a longer cycle this month, i would keep testing! Apparently, if you have an irregular cycle lasting 35 days or longer, ovulating at CD 21 or later is normal. (I know you can get tests that tell you if you have ovulated that month too) xxx

I sound like you, only I had no egg white discharge at all. My periods were mostly 36-40 days. And I’m 11 weeks pregnant after three months without even trying. I too convinced myself I was infertile, wasn’t too bothered as I wasn’t trying for a baby. But yeah… I’m not infertile

Last month I got my LH peak on day 23 (also using Premom), so I’d keep going with the testing for a few more days if I were you. My LH readings seem to be a lot lower than others though, even on my peak day.

I do have one DS who was conceived quite quickly but didn’t I track ovulation etc then so don’t know if it’s changed since then.

Try tracking bbt it’s gonna show if you ovulate or not.

So I finally got a peak and a smiley face this morning after some egg white yesterday, it’s CD25 so it must just be a long one!

@Boujee11 hello! I'm in a similar situation, all my tests are coming back super low. Using easy@home strips and Premom app. Stopped the contraceptive in late April. Yet to get a peak or positive test...

Just wondering how you've been getting on? It's driving me insane! Keep googling and freaking out their is something wrong with me. Also don't track BBT as shift work makes it not possible.
I'll attach a pic of my tests so far this month for reference.

Also congrats on the wedding!! Flowers
