I know I'm going to sound like an overthinker but here goes.

I'm usually very regular with periods and was a day late so took a test - I saw an incredibly faint line so also took a digital test which returned not pregnant. As we've been trying for nearly year I got it into my head that maybe the hormone levels still weren't high enough to be read by the digital test. So I waited a day and did another standard test - the same faint line. The following day I got some spotting and cramping and was convinced my period was on it's way and after googling (mistake I know) I convinced myself I had had a chemical pregnancy and got cross with myself for testing so early. Now this morning my period hasn't arrived - has anyone had a similar roller coaster experience when testing early? I don't want to say anything to my husband until I'm sure what's going on!!

@AmyLou84 it's hard to say, sometimes cycles are just weird, but levels of HCG should double every day so test again tomorrow morning and see?

Digitals need higher levels to return a positive, sometimes the cheap sticks are better in that case.... or try getting a FRER which will detect lower levels. At the time of a missed period an FRER should show something if you are pregnant! Good luck and please update the thread when you know 😃

also people start testing at DPO 7 sometimes, so you're not testing early, wouldn't worry about that!
