just to clarify this is an ovulation test !!!! I havent been looKIng after myself at all in these past 3 months. ive lost a lot of weight and my periods stopped because of it. its been over 100 days since my last period :( my doctor said once i start eating properly again my period should resume. so ive tried my best to look after myself and im hoping its worked. ive done ovulation tests here and there since losing my period but this past week ive noticed an increase in discharge and today some cramps!! could this be me ovulation? or close to as i know the test line could probably get darker. im gonna take a pregnancy test tomorrow just to check its not that as i know they can be positive when pregnant too. but im so happy i could burst out crying :)

id just like to add since losing my period ive not never had a line as dark as this or even close so im really hoping this is a sign my body is getting back to normal:) x

Hi OP.
sorry to hear you have had a rough 3 months, I hope you are doing okay!

the test line on that doesn’t seem to have developed properly and could be possibly that that is actually positive. Only reason I’m saying this is because I use these along side easy @ home ovulation tests, and the other day when I got my peak on my easy & home my cheapie test (the same one as above) was exactly like that, the test line hadn’t properly developed and was like ombré effect. I found those tests have been so awful in predicting positive and peak.

mothers find they work for them, but my test looked exactly like yours using the same urine sample as the one I used with easy @ home.

I hope that made sense.
if I was you and you are able to I would order some easy @ home and they will give you a much more peace of mind.

but to me, and going my my test similar to that the other day that would actually be positive and coinciding with the pains your experiencing.

@Nmmck93 hi lovely!!! im doing okay now :) on the mend anyway, and i hope youre good too x

thank you for mentioning this, im 11 months postpartum and never tracked my ovulation til after i gave birth (tbh, i didnt really even know much about it). and ironically after my last period was when i started tracking so ive never seen a peak until now. ill definitely invest in some proper ones, i have the premom app but just thought id see how the cheapies got on. my test line has never ever been that dark since i started testing so im just glad to see some progress. i saw it getting darker over the past couple days but never thought i’d see it so dark! but i guess it makes sense since i started eating properly :)

thank you once again for your reply xx

@elga2 I'm glad your back to eating properly & getting better!
Yeah, if I didn't have the proper ovulation tests then I wouldn't have known I was at peak, those cheapies do get darker but the test line being dark on one side and going into lighter is annoying so if you invested in the proper tests then you will get better readings and watch them go darker.
What I will say is if you feel like your ovulating test 2/3 times a day to catch your peak. Because it could be positive at lunchtime then around 7/8pm could be peak.
Hoping you find your way with them and start pin pointing your peak 💜

Please can someone help? I’m very new to ovulation tests!

i’m currently on the last day of my period, I took ab ovulation test just be curious (and to get my self ready TTC) and it’s this dark. Does this mean I’m going to ovulate early? I’m only on CD5.

@MLB96 this is an old thread so you would be best to start your own to get more replies!
However, with ovulation tests you really need to be testing at least once a day in order to identify your peak, since there are varying levels of LH in your body all the time. The test line should be as dark or darker than the control for a positive result, although that was never the case for me (different brand of OPKs) and now I’m pregnant, but it is very unlikely you would ovulate so soon after a period.

Oh I’m sorry!!! I thought I created a new thread haha! I’m new to this too!

thanks for you help.

@elga2 This is the darkest line I've seen in these kind of tests, if I got that I'd say definitely peak of LH.

@MLB96 it does look very positive... It is a bit weird, but ovulation can vary quite a lot! I would suggest you keep testing daily to see if it fades, rises again etc. It seems a bit too much, but I lately started keeping a notepad with the tests to compare more easily

@Nina7 the Premom app lets you add a photo each day of your ovulation test and gives you a score for the contrast of the test line against the control, and it saves them basically how you have them in your notebook - just if you wanted an alternative without the actual notebook!
