I am on CD24.

I got a +OPK on CD12.

Have always had pretty regular 28 day cycles apart from last month which was 33/34 days (put it down to stress as last month was first month of TTC!)

I have just had a tiny bit of very brown blood.

If this is start of AF that would mean I have just had a 23 day cycle which I have never ever had. I assume, from what I've read on here, that it would also mean there is a problem with the length of my LP??

Could it be implantation bleed 12 days past a +OPK? However, to check I just did a HPT and it was negative. If it was implantation bleed would a HPT show positive by now?

Any advice?

Hi Eleveld

I have been using OPK's for a while now. As far as i know, a +ve OPK doesn't mean that you are actually ovulating, rather that you are about to, in the next couple of days. Also, you can get a LH surge for 2 - 3 days ( i have had 3 days a couple of times) so theoretically you may not ovulate for 3 - 4 days after first getting a +ve. So yes, it could be implantation bleeding, and as far as i know, there is not enough hormone produced to give a +ve HPT until the embryo implants.

Hopefully someone with far more knowledge than me will be along soon!

Thanks madoldbird

I did an OPK the day after I got the +OPK on CD 12 and it was negative so I am assuming the latest I ovulated (if I did ovulate) was CD 14.

To be honest I think it's probably just pre AF spotting

As you know, +ve OPK is no indication of ovulation actually occurring and you should look out for the other physical signs (CM, CP, temps)

Assuming you did OV and conceived, as far as I know, the journey down the fallopian tube to implantation can take anything from a couple of days to ten days or more, so implantation does not always occur at a set time after OV.

I don't think there would be enough HcG in your urine at implantation to get a +ve HPT yet...I'm sure there are exceptions!

Summary...it's early days yet!!! Wait and test again on Monday. Good luck!

Having a tiny bit of brown blood doesn't mean you're back on CD1 though, I get brown spotting for 4-5 days before AF starts but only count CD1 as when full red flow comes.
