How to tell DP

Hi ladies,

I've just found out I'm pg, really early on and unplanned, been on the pill for a few months now.

How do I tell DP? I'm terrified as this wasn't in the foreseeable plans for either of us. I'm 24F and he's 25M. Both financially stable, I own a home etc, we could if we wanted, it's just a huge surprise and I don't know if he will want it. Not even living together currently.

Please help, any advice welcome 🤍

Next time you see him at one of your homes just tell him. It's like ripping off a plaster. Don't do a grand reveal etc.

@moonspiral thank you, yes I think you're right, might wait a few more days since it's really early. Don't want to have to go through telling him and it not work out anyway.

When you tell him - try and say it really clearly too!

I’ve known people that have tried to say it gently and their partner hasn’t really understood what they were saying, so it made it harder and more emotional.

I’d also recommend having a fairly freshly wee’d on test, to show him you are pregnant too! Just for some visual conformation too.

Good luck - I’d love it if you let us know how it goes x

@KittyWitty Thank you, yes now you've said ill definitely make sure I have a test to hand so I can show him. Going to try and wait until 4wks but will update you! X

@KittyWitty I let him know today, it went ok..
He was a bit shocked and said he was scared but told me loved me lots & that we'll sort it out.

He definitely wasn't enthusiastic but also didn't seem too bad, he's coming over later so hoping to have a proper chat about everything then.

I'm considering a termination if I'm going to be honest as the thought of being a single mum terrifies me. I've also done a clearblue as you suggested showing 2-3 weeks. X

@allthingspinkx give him a little bit of time to process it, as you’ve had a few more days than him. Ultimately, you both need to be happy and invested in a decision to raise a child together, so there isn’t resentment later on.

Sending lots of love for whatever choice you make ❤️

Why do you think you'll be a single mum?
