Late AF - when did you test positive?

Has anyone ever had negative pregnancy tests and turned out to be pregnant? I have had 3 cycles with 5 day periods (since stopping BF and having my implant removed) and I am almost 2 weeks late. Have done pregnancy tests at various points, 2 after I was officially late. All negative. I am trying to just forget about it and wait for AF but the longer time goes on the hardest it is to just keep it out of my mind. Has anyone had a similar experience or can share reasons why I could be so late and not pregnant? TIA

I suppose the obvious question is do you track ovulation, and do you know if/ when you ovulated? The most likely cause is late ovulation… could be that your body is still regulating somewhat after stopping bf and removing implant..
Sorry it sounds v frustrating!

When I had the coil out in October I had very weird cycles ranging from 24-37 days. Took a while to regulate. It’ll probably be that and you stopping BF that’s messed it up a bit. Are you checking for ovulation?

so I don't track ovulation or anything like that as not actively trying to conceive, I stopped breastfeeding early December and had my implant out January (due to bad side effects). Completely understand it could just be my body adjusting but seems so strange to have had 3 normal cycles Confused like you said it's just frustrating!! Will have to wait for Mother Nature I guess

I’m in a similar position atm, after months of 27-29 day cycles I’m on day 32 and still testing negative. I’m assuming it’s stress but I can’t help but fret about it. Tiresome, isn’t it? I wish I could help!

tobi21 · 14/04/2023 12:06

@vicaragechristmas thank you I'm sorry you're in the same boat!! I'm also thinking stress could be delaying my period but I don't feel that stressed? I would just like it to arrive so I don't feel the need to keep testing

I stopped the pill and breastfeeding. Tested negative on day 30 so thought it was just my body taking time to find a rhythm, but It wasn't. I think I must have ovulated late after my withdrawal bleed and tested positive on day 38

tobi21 · 14/04/2023 14:43

@Landsmen wow that's really interesting, how late were you at day 30? The info on pregnancy tests basically says if you test after your due and get a negative you're not pregnant, seems that may not be the case for everyone

@tobi21 since it was my first natural cycle in 2.5 years I'm not really sure, my average cycle is 30 days but obviously if I didn't ovulate within 15 or so days of stopping the pill it caused this cycle to be longer

I would also like mine to arrive, @tobi21! DH keeps asking if I’ve started yet - he isn’t keen on another baby so he’s a bit on edge about it. I’m now on CD34 which is the latest I’ve ever been, aside from five weird periods immediately following my first covid jab and stopping breastfeeding (both at around the same time so not sure what triggered the sudden cycle imbalance). Weird times.
