Gender Selection Cyprus

Hello,

I am seriously considering gender selection in Cyprus. I have a child already who I love with all my heart but for finance / age reasons we’d only like one more and we’d love to have one of the other gender. My husband is very supportive but doesn’t feel as passionate about it as I do. I love my child very much but feel like I’m missing out on life by not having children of both genders. I do not want this to be triggering to anyone struggling to conceive but it honestly gives me depression.

We were considering gender sway but I think it’s too risky. Has anyone done gender selection in Cyprus and would have any reviews on a clinic? I don’t know where to start! I live in Ireland.

Thank you

Hi there , i am looking to go to Cyprus too for gender selection, did you find out any good clinics there?

Teddysma · 05/01/2024 16:16

Hi there, from my research Crown and Team Z seem to be the best. There’s a great group on Facebook called North Cyprus IVF Support Group, I’d highly recommend. We’ve decided to go the sway route in the end! 2nd month swaying girl here, best of luck in your journey

Hi, can I ask why you chose to go with the sway method instead? and what method are you using? we have been really considering gender selection as also desperate to have a baby of the opposite gender. x

Hello, so my husband felt funny about not using or destroying healthy male embryos because they weren’t girls! I kinda get it too but that does happen all the time with IVF. We’re swaying using baby dust method (which is mainly timing, 3 days pre ovulation, then 2 etc), but I’ve read alot of science about PH swaying so we’re trying to reduce my PH through diet and supplements too. I’ll let you know how we get on. Best of luck to you

That whole group set up seems a bit suspicious to me if im honest... The group admins claim no links with the clinics, but repeatedly promote Crown in particular so how do we know if they are not Crown employees or agents? Really helpful concept overall and I found some very useful stuff in there, but take anything you read with a pinch of salt i'd say...

These poor kids.

The amount of pressure you're putting on them to fulfil YOUR feelings and conform to your wants and 'needs.'

Christ on a bike some people should not procreate.

It's sex, not gender. And it's immoral - glad this is illegal in the UK for purely social reasons.

This. Should be illegal worldwide. So many people want any child and don’t get that.

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 02/04/2024 13:59

Why does the sex of your child matter?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 02/04/2024 14:27

Depression because you don't want a second child of the wrong sex seems more than a tad privileged to me

This is an advice forum to discuss topics. I understand it’s not for everyone and mean no offence. I’ll try close the thread

Wonder how offended your child will be when they realise they don't conform to your wants and wishes.

DinaofCloud9 · 02/04/2024 18:16

Some people really can't handle the fact that we don't always get exactly what we want.

KoraliaValentine · 02/04/2024 18:30

Would you be willing to donate any male embryos not wanted by you as part of the gender selection process? That way you wouldn't be discarding any, and would be helping others to achieve their dream.

Teddysma · 02/04/2024 21:25

Stop that now Reeva

Why can't you answer the question?

When your child doesn't conform to your wants and needs, what then?

What if your daughter arrives and wants to play with boys things and dress like a boy?

Or has she got to be in pretty pink dresses with a pretty name and pretty hair because of your ridiculous ideation of a child?

Gross. No, I won't stop.

menopausalmare · 04/04/2024 09:16

Personally, I would only sex select if there was a sex -linked hereditary condition in the family.
Embryos will be destroyed if you conceive using this method.
I'm pro choice but this, in my opinion, is a step too far.
Why Cyprus? Is this practice not possible in the UK? There is a reason why.
What health protections will you be able to access by doing a medical procedure abroad?

itsjustasecrethandshake · 04/04/2024 09:24

Gross self-absorbed self-centred, already controlling. There's a good reason why it's illegal in UK/Ireland and may it remain so.

Otsma · 16/11/2024 16:55

I’m so sorry that people have been so negative and abusive towards you for wanting to make a decision about what you want for yourself and your family… unfortunately people think the rules can only bend to suit them when and as needed.

I hope everything worked out for you and would be interested to hear about how you’ve gotten on?

JoanaSun · 06/07/2025 08:54

Hi everyone,

I am also interested in IVF in North Cyprus. Is there a private group in which experiences are discussed? If so I would like to join.
