How many days do you do your temperature for?, never done it before, how do you know when ovulation has happened. Also tracking ovulation with the easy at home/premom tests.

You have to go it everyday at the same time as soon as you wake up (set an alarm) before moving, talking, drinking etc!

Once your temp rises and stays risen that means ovulation has happened. It's sometimes only a small rise so best to plot on a graph in an app so you can see the change. If you're pregnant your temp won't drop again, if you're not then it will drop around the time AF is due x

@Bellesjp thank you 😊 I've downloaded the premom app and the fermometer app to record to plot the temperature. X

Hey! I starting BBT on first day of my period ending, i used to log it both in premom app and fertility friend app. Day of ovulation when my LH peaked my BBT dropped then day after my BBT went really high (confirming ovulation) then i continued to track, on 9DPO i got a little dip in BBT (implantation dip) and next day i had a positive test and as soon as i got positive test i stopped tracking! This was my first moth BBTing, if i didn't get positive test i would have just continued tracking! Just make sure you are doing it same time every morning without getting out of bed otherwise its not accurate. I'll add my charts xxx

My charts with BFP on 10DPO
(oh I must have BBT a few days after but stopped, I would say no need to BBT after positive) xx

@TTCRainbow Thank you 😊 never tracked BBT before, thought I'd give it a go. I got a thermometer off amazon to use, have got the premom app to track everything. Lots to remember isn't there? Congrats on your BFP 🙂 xx

I'm awful for waking up at the same time as I would sometimes wake at like 4am so I adjusted (it was something per every 30 mins difference to go up or down) there are adjustment calculators online such as below.

@NameChangeFor2023 I'm the same, waking up at the same time. Thank you very much for the link 😀

Try measuring vaginally I find that it's more accurate. When I did it orally it was changinh all the time even taking a big breath when waking up messed it up and vaginally it's only small changes from day to day.

Lauraliverpool · 05/04/2023 07:30

@emmatcc1 thats interesting that it doesn't have big changes doing it that way.

I changes in the middle od cycle on 4 dpo and it's been consistent since. I also measure before going to bed for no reason at all and it's been 37.2 every night.

@emmatcc1 how do you know if ovulation has happened when you temp? Yesterday mine was 34.32 c and today it was 36.41c. How long is recommended to take your temperature?

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 05/04/2023 22:06

You should measure before getting up or doing anything. You should try the fertility friend app and track there as it calculates ovulation on it's own. You should also measure everyday through the whole cycle and slowly you will see a patern and start to recognise ovulation. Temperature dips before an egg is released and rises after and stays up until af.

emmatcc1 · 05/04/2023 22:08

Also 34 is really low.

Lauraliverpool · 06/04/2023 13:56

@emmatcc1 thank you, been making sure I do it before getting up, drinking etc. I think I remember using fertility friend quite a while ago. Should your temperature not be 34?

Normal body temperature is around 36-37. 35 and below is considered mild hypothermia

Lauraliverpool · 06/04/2023 20:15

@emmatcc1 I think I might of not given it enough time to accurately take my temperature, needed for the thermometer to finish beeping.
