Hi all,

I'm really after some help,

so I am due to start my AF in 3 days time,

I have ordered some LH tests and am looking for advice on where and how to start tracking my ovulation?

I used the Fertility Friend website/app. In addition to LH tests if you really want to take it seriously, start taking your basal body temperature at the same time every morning before you get out bed. You'll really start to know your body.

There are many apps available. I used ovia, but there is another called Glo (or similar). You add in all the details and it will tell you when AF is due, peak fertility etc. It can take a few months of data though to get more accurate.

For OPK's, I never go on with urine ones which never saw my surge. I bought a reusable, saliva OPK. It seems almost no one in Britain is aware of them! Mine is called 'Maybe baby' but other brands are available online or at larger pharmacies.

If you use an app called Premom, then you take photos of your tests and it will tell you when you have reached your peak and will give you your ovulation date. For your first month tracking, I would test the day after your period ends as you won't know how fast you ovulate. Test once a day (but not your first wee) and then when your tests start to darken then I would test a couple of times a day at different times as otherwise you can miss your peak. For a peak you are looking for your test line to be darker then your control line.

You can also track your BBT if you get a thermometer and this will help confirm ovulation.

Hi Al! Thanks for all the great advice. Can I ask how do people manage to test multiple times a day? I thought I could test FMU and again in the evening. Otherwise I will have to be testing at work. I suppose I could just put the strip back in the packet and load it onto Premom when I get in from work.

I use the pre mom app also. It can help automatically pick up on high and peak. When you see your peak you will shortly ovulate so make sure to do the business over the next few days to cover it. I didn't ovulate until 3 days after my peak this month
