Late implantation

Is it really possible for an embryo to implant as late as 12dpo? I know the guidance says anywhere between 6-12 dpo is possible but I just don't know how that could happen?

If at 5dpo thr embryo is a blastocyst, what's it been doing or living off for those, potentially, 7 days?

Please can someone who knows what they're talking about help me because I'm going down a rabbit hole in my own brain here 😂😂

Has anyone had experience of what they think was late implantation? X

with my first I had a negative test at 13dpo and got a positive at 14dpo so must have implanted late. Everything was absolutely fine though.

@Twoinapod I suppose I'm just holding on to the hope of a bfp tomorrow at 14dpo too but all I've had are stark white negatives

It does blow my mind though that late implantation happens, especially when so many people get positive tests at 9,10 dpo etc

@whatsnewpussycat34 any update? I’m trying to read so many implantation posts as I started spotting 12dpo (yesterday) and tests are still negative and AF due tomorrow and I’m down a rabbit hole wrecking my own brain as it’s unusual for me to spot at all before my period. 🙈
