Period after mmc

I am 2 months post mmc (at 8 weeks pregnant). Ive had no inkling of a period until 3 days ago, when I started spotting brown discharge. Presumed this would turn into my first period-hurrah! However, 3 days in and its still brown spotting..no red blood or clots, nothing like a usual period. Is this normal following a miscarriage?? Took a pregnancy test last week which was negative so I dont feel its that (have been taking regular pregnancy tests due to no period). Just wondering if this is somewhat normal following a miscarriage?

I had pregnancy symptoms and really light spotting for every month for three or four months instead of a period and was told I'd probably had a missed miscarriage before those periods, so I think it would be normal, yes. So sorry for your loss.
