Sorry for being an idiot. I'm trying to understand the basics really. When you get your lh surge I know you'll release an egg in the next day 12-36 hrs or something

So when I get my peak the egg will soon get released. Once the lh surge is low does that mean the egg Is currently out waiting or does that mean the whole event is actually passed and the egg is no longer available? Is there any point doing the deeds if your surge is low again ?

You have your peak on a test, you in theory will then release an egg 12-36 hours later. However a drop in LH doesn't mean that you have ovulated as you don't necessarily ovulate on every cycle. This is why people track their BBT too, as a spike in that a couple of days after peak indicates you have ovulated. Taking into account the time the egg survives once released you have anywhere between 12-72 hours window after a positive LH test. So I'd say if you had a peak last night then today is definitely worth trying to BD.
