TTC over 30

For those TTC over 30 how was the journey for you?

I'm 33 and we've been trying for 2 months and no luck. My grandmothers on both sides each had lots of children from their 20s into their 40s, so I'm hoping that's a good sign but I am getting a little worried now.

I would love to have 2.

36 and conceived on first try. It's still early days if you've only tried for 2 cycles. I did use fertility acupuncture and reflexology I should add

lucya66 · 20/03/2023 19:44

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 20/03/2023 19:50

Maybe try some ovulation Tests if your not using them already to make sure you are DTD around the right time. Good luck x

TTCfireworks · 20/03/2023 19:55

Thanks ladies. I'm just using an app so far. Popped ov tests on my amazon order. Excited.

I would recommend the easy at home test and the free Premom app x

I found ovulation tests and bbt monitoring to both be really useful to pinpoint and confirm ovulation. I'm 37, been ttc for around 10 months, however in that time my body decided to skip 2 months of periods, I've had a ruptured ectopic and one early miscarriage 😏 at the same time I know plenty of other people of a similar age who have had no problems at all! Currently got a tentative bfp, but am anxious as its super early days so not quite accepted it yet...

I'm 33 this coming month and been trying for 2 cycles as well! I BBT so know when I O but have a relatively short luteal phase for 11 +/-1; CD 2 for me today 😩
Maybe we can keep each other company?

Seeleyboo · 20/03/2023 20:10

@JD90 hello!

Im in a similar situation with my body randomly seeming to skip a period - currently only a few days late so far but BFN and I don’t feel pregnant but I have ZERO clue what’s going on. I was just wondering if you know whether you ovulated the month after it skipped? And was you concerned at all or just happy to let things be without a period and be chill… I’m slowly self diagnosing myself something sinister or early menopause 😥😂 bloody google!!! Haha xx

JuanitathePizza · 20/03/2023 22:47

Conceived both of mine on the first cycle at 30 and 32, didn't do any monitoring, temp charting or opks.

LeopardLover · 21/03/2023 21:09

I was 34 and I conceived after 3 cycles. I was using digital OPKs. Hopefully you get your positive soon! 😊

Lcb123 · 21/03/2023 21:11

31 and started trying January. You really need to relax, it’s very normal to take a year even in couples with no issues. I’m personally avoiding any ovulation tests or anything for at least a year

FernaFrey · 21/03/2023 22:25

Hey! I'm 32 and going into our 4th month of trying. Only started using OPK on month 3. I admit, I went into this naively and thought we would conceive first time or def 2nd time... now reality has hit. I'm gaining a lot of understanding of this journey already 😌I convinced myself we successfully conceived this month gone...but today AF arrived and I feel SOO bummed out and flat. Got to ride the waves and really try to relax (which i am not).

Before we started TTC we said that we wouldn't TTC in March/April time to avoid the Xmas or January birthday... now that has gone out the window and we would just love to conceive. My mum told me off about avoiding Dec/Jan birthdays and said that's so silly- a baby is a gift 😇

So yes, in the space of 3 months, my controlling mindset and expectations have gone out the window and reality slapped me in the face . Wishing you all luck 💞

Tripletcatmum · 22/03/2023 00:54

Hi I am 32 and currently waiting for either AF to arrive or to miss her and do a test I’m 10 DPO and this is my first cycle I have been using the conceive plus bundle vitamins for 1 month prior to trying I must add I have used home insemination as I am a lesbian so not as simple for me to do BD but I had 2 goes on cycle day 15 and 18 which CD 18 was my peak day I have a very straightforward cycle which lasts 30 days going by my last two periods and my periods are considered healthy normal periods my ovulations are always straightforward also with the OPK test strips I bought of Amazon and asdas own ones which look similar to a pregnancy test I find it so confusing as any symptoms I have noticed as a sign of BFP are also the same as BFN and getting AF. When I get a little symptom I can’t seem to remember if it’s new or just something iv never looked out for in AF. The only thing I notice in AF is the few cramps i get but nothing that I have to take the day off work or anything that bad up to now my breast just feel in the way which is the only way to describe it and also sone CM which again happens in either I started testing with OPKS again 6dpo just to get a better understanding of how my own body works I continued to have a faint line which I know is negative of course but these started to rise and today I got extremely high line then dipped back down again I havnt been consistent with bbt to be able to compare Was wondering anyone had ever ttc using home insemination and how they done it and what they used ect I used an oral cal oil syringe as I have friends this has worked for resulting in two pregnancy’s but would be grateful for any feedback you guys have on anything at all that may help me get info I must add my donor already has donated sperm resulting in two babies so I know his sperm quality is fine look forward to any info you guys have x

Tripletcatmum · 22/03/2023 01:01

Few typos n the previous post hopefully you guys get what they mean

@JD90 how is your tentative BFP looking? 🤞🏻 How’s everyone getting on? Lots of baby dust to you all.

I’m 31, on cycle 8 of TTC baby2.

We conceived our first baby on cycle 4 age 30, tracked ovulation and both took lots of vitamins from the outset, and Pre-seed.

This time round, it’s taking longer, so this cycle, I’m doing two or three OPK a day with the Pre-Mom app.

We’ve also made some quick and easy lifestyle changes too. The way I see it - if there is a problem, I’d rather know now, rather than delay investigations and treatments. We’ve not got time to waste!

Definitely not tentative anymore, I'm 19 weeks today :) it has however up to this point been a bit of a nightmare but 🤞 getting better now...

@JD90 oh how wonderful! Congratulations. I hope it’s all plain sailing for the rest of the pregnancy
