TTC- boots pregnancy test

Tequilachic12 · Yesterday 07:21

Been TTC for 18 months now getting very stressed out by it all .

this month I felt completely different, very hungry all the time, sickness and sore all over. 2 days before my period was due I had very light pink bleed only when wiping then went away. No period as of yet, 2 days late done a boots pregnancy test and it has come up negative. I have now read boots tests are not the most reliable.

has anyone else had any experiences with boots pregnancy tests? Should I just take it I’m not pregnant again? Any advice appreciated thanks in advance

To be honest no matter what brand of test you get you will find people saying they are unreliable and others say they are the best thing since sliced bread! 2 days late you would expect a positive on any test really, but again that's not always the case. You can have a good idea of when you ovulate (within a 36 hour ish window) but not when you implant. Than be anywhere across almost a full week window. Like everyone says you aren't out until af arrives, unfortunately sometimes periods are just late for no reason 😏

Hi op!

Sorry to hear about your journey so far... Sounds very stressful :(

I had a chemical pregnancy last month and have just entered the tww again.

Did you test with the boots early detection tests? I used them last month with the cp and found them good... Here's my test from 12dpo. But, everyone's line strength is different and as everyone says, you're not out until af arrives! Fingers crossed for you 🤞x

I've been using the Teaco cheap strips (Freedom; 2 strips for £1) and I've been getting a second line however looks very thin and only the slightest bit of colour.

Has anyone had bad experiences with these tests too? I only buy them because of money issues at the moment and they're affordable.

@anon1411 How many dpo are you? I haven't used those ones myself but have used other cheaper strips and found that they aren't as sensitive (even when they say they are!) And take longer to show a decent line than the more expensive brands

I had a false positive on a Boots pregnancy test. I also got false positives on those One Step strips. I opted for a FRER when my period was a couple of days late. BFP!

Do you know how my DPO you are? As in do you track ovulation via BBT and ovulation tests? You could’ve ovulated later than usual and maybe the light pink bleed was ovulation.

I used the boots early ones last month and they showed a faint positive along with a clear blue early test. Sadly I then had an early miscarriage but I’d say at 2 days late I’d expect to see a positive if it was, unless you ovulate very late in your cycle.

I always seem to get a shadow line on the boots strip ones?! Every other one is negative. Bizarre! Wishing you all the best xx
