Having bloods for pre-conception testing in prep of trying . DR said for the day 21 to go day 22/23 as my cycles are on the longer side. Does that sound right? I don't want to go on the wrong day!

Yes. The test is done 7 days after ovulation. It’s called day 21 because they deem a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 to be typical. If you have a longer cycle then you probably ovulate a little later than day 14.

I had a 28 day cycle but ovulated on day 15 but I knew this because I tracked it. If you’re going to start trying then I do recommend tracking ovulation to maximise your chances.

My cycles were 35/36 days but I still ovulated on day 14. I wasn't tracking but I know the signs and fell pregnant after only DTD once in that week so I was definitely right. I'd recommend tracking too if you're really not sure.
