When to test

Hi, I am on day 21 in my cycle. I just wanted to know when is the best time to take a pregnancy test. I don't want to take it too early, but I do want to know, too.

You need to do it based on your number of days post ovulation not on your cycle days. Would leave it at least 9DPO if you can x

@Strawberry2512 personally I wouldn't test until af is due. Thats because once you crack the first test it really is hard to stop and that gets expensive. I also wouldnt want to know if I was having a chemical. Good luck !

I’d wait until the day of AF - I had a chemical in November (had to test the day before as was due a smear!) - I was always a bit hesitant but still, it does add to disappointment if you get a positive and it turns out chemical 🥹 unfortunately I think they’re very common if you test early!

Im due AF today and having a very weird situation as it hasn’t arrived but test is negative 🤔 I have endo so had some horrible pains yest morning but no sign of AF still… waiting a day or two before using the expensive tests as I must have spent about £50 when I had the chemical being certain I was… I was and then I wasn’t ☹️

@Yolo23 I had a miscarriage last September it was very early. I am 43, and when they did an ultrasound after the miscarriage they said I have a cyst on my let ovary and on my left kidney. I do have fibroids, but they are very small and told me that they are not too concerned. I just hope I do conceive as I am not conceiving as quickly as I normally do. I'm going to wait till next week as I am meant to start my periods on Saturday, so let's see fingers crossed.

I really hope it happens quickly for you too - in some ways it can be useful to test early to know where you’re at, but I’d only recommend doing this with cheap tests if you feel mentally able to handle the possibility of a chemical disappointment 😩
