I actually used these with our first and conceived on the first try, but this time is slightly confusing.

Started testing as instructed and got a blank circle, then another blank circle the next day, straight to static smiley the following morning.

Historically I had about 5 days of flashing smiley!

We dtd 3 times in total, the day of the second blank circle, day of static smiley and day after static smiley. I thought I’d do another ovulation test to see if I still had the static smiley and it’s giving me a blank circle, presumably the surge has ended and I’ve either ovulated or haven’t.

The thing is, the blue line on this test is the strongest I’ve had so far. How can that be? I know that’s not how you read these tests but I’ve seen everyone doing it.

According to my Clu app I’m not due to ovulate for another 2/3 days and I haven’t had any ovulation symptoms yet (I normally do.)

What would you take from this?

The line on the right is the control line & left (closest to the arrow) is the test line, that's why it's negative

@timetosave thanks for the reply. So you’d say this was negative? Shows how much I know - this looked like a strong positive to me 😂 Mind you, the only times I’ve checked lines is on pregnancy tests.

Yes, definitely. Don't worry, it's only because I've TTC 3 times & has been engulfed in it each time!😅 you've had your static smiley though so that's all that matters, no need to keep testing generally

Whathefisgoingon · 15/03/2023 09:12

@timetosave thanks! That’s even stranger as this one is by far the strongest one I’ve had this cycle. Makes me think that perhaps the static smiley was wrong!

So it's not the control line you judge it by, it's the test line. The control line will be dark either because there's more dye in this test or because the control line is very faint, it's really unlikely the positive tests would be wrong
