Are we doing it enough?

Every month I come on a new cycle, I always blame myself for not ddt enough or for longer throughout the cycle, I know I covered alot of it but then I keep thinking if we ddt for 3 extra days after ovulation maybe it will happen and thats where we are going wrong, but ddt every other day for 10 days feels too much for us :(

Every other day is ideal but if you’re tracking your bbt you might have enough insight into your cycle to do it less often but in a more focussed way.

How long have you been ttc?

An egg only lasts for 24hours after ovulation so there isn’t much point in doing it for that long after. Remember there’s only something like a 20% chance of conceiving each month if everything is spot on so don’t put so much pressure on yourself.

Loads of women don’t know when they’ve ovulated though. When we started ttc I assumed it was bang on mid cycle but as I got used to paying more attention and then started temping I realised it was more like cycle day 10. Even with temping you’re meant to DTD for 3 days after so it confirms you’ve ovulated.

im trying to follow NHS recommendations of every 2-3 days throughout cycle. I’m not doing any tracking or tests (now / for first year TTC at least), as I think it’s best to be relaxed and not obsess.
