Discharge after ovulation

Hey!! So last month I got a false positive and although it was very upsetting. I decided to look at what maybe we were doing wrong and fix it.

so we did. Everything so far has been perfect and normal and we have every chance of conceiving .

I got a peak opk on the 9/3/23 and ovulated 10/3/23. I did notice this day there was tiny specs of blood when I wiped. Like. Literally tiny I put it down to ovulation bleeding.
we are 4dpo. I’ve been left with a horrible back ache that comes and goes. And also I’ve got a discharge that’s just like the discharge you get when ovulating.

what does this mean? Please don’t tell me it’s my AF cos everything’s gone perfect this month if it comes early I’ll die 🤣

Your TTC, yes?

Suddenly ... your paying so much attention to your body, every ache & pain, every mood swing ... must have a direct link to ovulation/period? Not necessarily.
This is why some people are told to 'relax' during this time ... which can come across as highly annoying considering your doing literally right, yet still no pregnancy.

Easier said than done :/

I’ve never experienced a discharge straight after ovulation I was simply looking for an insight

im still very new to TTC. I’m learning new things everyday.

I am trying to have a baby and I know it’ll happen when it’s meant to happen.

I just wanted to know what’s going on

@Abixxlou

"Easier said than done" - I wholeheartedly agree with you; when I was TTC I was exactly the same. Took me 3m after an early miscarriage to be successful; I do get how hard it can be & didn't mean to come across patronising.

Sperm can live in the body for around 5days, and the fertilisation window after ovulation is short considering how long everything else takes :( ... what worked for me was having sperm ready & waiting for when my body did decide to ovulate.
I ovulated on CD9 (confirmed via ultrasound) rather than the 'expected' CD14; no egg white cervical mucus that can indicate ovulation either.
Your specks of blood may well have been the egg rupturing from the ovary; unsure on the backache your experiencing as I doubt a fertilised egg has had the time to even implant yet.

Thank you. I didn’t mean to jump on the defensive.

I was thinking it’s not implantation or anything due to the window of time.

I’ve just had a lot I’ve not experienced before. And I’m sorry if I sound dumb is the egg rupturing a bad thing? Or is that literally ovulation🤦‍♀️

I’ve already had tests and scans to confirm everything is normal.

I think it’s just a matter of time which is always the worst!

me and my partner work opposite shifts so timings always been an issue as well as trying to educate him on the fertile window because he didn’t believe it 🤣

this month is the first time in a while where all opportunities have been used if you get what I mean 🤣

and I feel all the better for it.

probably is just hormones levelling out from ovulation.

No worries; and honestly, I apologise. I genuinely do know what a rollercoaster it all is.

Yes, the egg rupturing is just the egg being released (ovulation) some woman have even described a strange popping sensation when this happens - totally normal.
All these things your experiencing now, could well just be because your actually paying attention more to your body because your TTC.
Discharge can be a sign of whatever's happening on the inside, but not always. The infamous egg white type, just didn't appear for me, and I thought I'd missed my chance yet again ... but I was wrong.
Hormones are a nightmare at the best of times aren't they? Throw in the stress & anxiety of TTC ... there's so many times I just sat & cried.

I know that what works for one, don't work for everyone & everybody is different, but for me it was; sex near the end of my period, then every 2-3 days after to 'top up' the active sperm in my body - also because having sex everyday, or multiple times a day can actually lower the quality of the sperm (let those nuts regenerate)!

Also, pineapple fruit is said to be good for the time leading up to ovulation - but not after (something about the Bromelin content helping the egg become more viable or something, & not after ovulation because it also naturally contracts the uterus making it harder for implantation)
Remember to have fun & be kind yourself :)
