42 yr old - too old?

I am nearly 42 yrs old and my husband and i would like to try for a second baby. Our first is 3 1/2 yrs old already.

Does anyone know what are the chances of my conceiving? i have regular periods and am healthy.

Don't bother about stats - just go for it if that's what you want. 42 isn't past it, especially if you're fit(ish) & healthy (don't smoke/booze)
Mother nature will let you know. You could always get checked over by your GP (hormone markers of ovulation/luteal phase) if you want more positive vibes.

Erm, hope not. I am 41 and have just started ttc. I think its all down to health and a bit of luck.There are lots of over 40's about, some ttc and loads with successful pregnancys.

I got pregnant twice when I was 42.. and had 2 missed miscarriages Got pregnant again with no trouble at all at 43 and had DD 2 months before my 44th birthday

One word of advice. Don't bother with the nuchal blood tests. Once you are over 40 you will always get a high risk result (mine was 1:24)

Think if you are healthy and having regular periods,you have a good chance.
I had dd when I was 41 -trouble-free pregnancy, healthy baby.

My SIL just conceived at 41 by accident as has had a healthy pregnancy, due in 6 weeks...x

I had a baby at 42 last year and I'm hoping to be pregnant again this year.Go for it.
