Wanting to know all your chemical pregnancy stories, currently going through one myself (I think) one of the main things throwing me off is google says with a chemical pregnancy you don’t have any actual pregnancy symptoms but boy I do.. I want all the stories

Hiya- really sorry to hear you are going through that. I had one in early December at I reckon about 4w 5d and I definitely had pregnancy sore boobs but didn't yet have any nausea etc. (weirdly one of my first "signs" before I'd had the positive pregnancy test was instinctively holding my tummy as I was going up and down stairs). I started bleeding one morning which progressively got heavier and clotted and started cramping and I tested negative later that day. Then it was just like a normal period with no more pain from the next day.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that I conceived again next cycle in January and am now 11 weeks pregnant! I've heard lots of similar stories that you are apparently more fertile for the following 3 months.

What helped me was just cancelling my plans for a week and hibernating and telling close friends for support - hope you'll be OK.

Aww congratulations!! I have nausea, sore head, sore boobs. I had a MC in December aswell had to have a wee op to remove the baby.. I’m nearly certain I’m having a chemical as my tests are negative but I’m bleeding heavy and there is tiny clots. I have a 2 and a half year old so unfortunately hibernating isn’t an option for me 😂😂

Oh gosh I'm sorry you might be experiencing this again so soon. Maybe as you already have a little one symptoms come on much sooner? It's weird too I never usually think about MMCs after having a baby but obviously it's really common too. Definitely no hibernating for you - try and get lots of cuddles!

I was very lucky with my first.. we weren’t even trying but we weren’t exactly taking and precautions.. if I only knew how lucky I was then 😂 we’ve been TTC for almost a year now!

So sorry to hear this :( I had one in January and miscarried at 4w2d. It was my second miscarriage and my first was horrific, so in comparison this one felt slightly easier but it’s still an awful process.

just to wary, sometimes the period after the chemical is actually heavier than the bleed initially after - caught me by surprise.

im on month 11 ttc so right there with you - hopefully our luck changes soon

Wondering if I can jump on?
I'm sorry for your losses first of all.

Looking for advice, yesterday was CD38 where I normally am about 28-32 days. Tested negative everyday but tested yesterday evening with easy @ home strips and I got two very clear pink lines. Yes the positive line was abit weaker than the control line but it was clear and pink.
Got up this morning after us both being so excited last night as this was my first positive , to take another test only to find blood on the paper with small clots, and tests all negative :(

I know it doesn't change the outcome and I am not pregnant but do you think this is likely to be a chemical or just a faulty test? I think if it was a chemical, even though I am no longer pregnant I will take a little comfort in the fact I managed to fall pregnant. Rather than being stupidly excited over a duff test

Am absoloutly gutted.
Attached test strip from last night and did an FRER recently which is clearly negative.

Look forward to seeing what you think.

last night when you tested positive did you only do one test? Easy at home are normally very reliable but I’ve had 1 false positive with them out of the like 200 I’ve used. I know a lot of the time with chemicals your ‘period’ will be late and most people don’t even realise they’re having them they think it’s just a late period. I am still testing positive but the line hasn’t got any darker and I’ve passed a lot of clots so defo a chemical for me

Yes, I just did the one test, wish I did more now at the same time to be sure.

I have a FRER and cb digital, do you think I should do one of those later this evening? I know the outcome won't change

I would definitely do the FRER, they’re the most sensitive but also can be bad for indent lines.. I wouldn’t personally do the digital and they’re nowhere near as sensitive

Oh I’m so sorry to hear! I also had a miscarriage in December, was 12 weeks along but baby only measuring 8+4.. I had surgery to remove it so this chemical pregnancy has definitely been easier to handle mentally and physically but definitely still hard! I’m 10 months TTC but I was pregnant for 3 of them and then had a month break after the first miscarriage.. I know you’re super fertile after MC but I mentally couldn’t do it

@Jess1997

Hi, I know this thread is a year on from so don’t
even know if this will be seen now but I’m only just coming across this thread & my current situation is like your story exactly a year on…

I have just experienced a chemical pregnancy yesterday (8th March 2024) at exactly 5 weeks. I also had a miscarriage in December 2023 at 8 weeks. I also have a little boy who is nearly 2 and a half!

If you still see updates on this thread I hope it all worked out for you in the and and you got your rainbow!

Anyone else who has suffered a miscarriage and a chemical in a short space of time, please share your positive stories.

sending love x

Jess1997 · 09/03/2024 19:08

@Jess1997 oh no I’m so sorry to hear about your other losses :( wishing you luck & positivity for the days ahead xx

Ella31 · 09/03/2024 19:23

I didn't even realise I was pregnant with my chemical. I got my period on time, same length, same day as usual. But the last day of it, I just felt really crap. I took a digital and I was shocked that it was positive. I got my hcg bloods done in doctors, they were low bit confirmed I was pregnant, got the second hcg done two days later and to everyone's surprise they had doubled.

However next day I began bleeding and my digitals were negative. Took 8 weeks for my cycle to come back.

Shan1991 · 09/03/2024 19:30

@Ella31 I’m sorry you went through this too :( sending you well wishes & good luck going forward. Hope you get your little baby xx
