Opks in morning?

Does anyone else do their opks on the morning? FMU? I can't hold my urine for 4 hours and drink so much water it would be well watered down any way.

The clear blue monitor tells you to use FMU. On Monday I got a very strong positive line with FMU but I have read it's best not to. It's all a bit confusing

Robo86 · 08/03/2023 21:11

I use FMU always have done. Some opks advise to use FMU and others don't but I've never had an issue

Kirstylvsya · 08/03/2023 21:20

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 do you use the pink or purple clear blue? I have them ready to confirm when cheap opks show I'm close.

@Robo86 have you always had accurate results, always got a positive? And confirmed ovulation any other way? Also did you ever miss ovulation doing them in mornings?

I did morning always, and then when I thought I was close to ovulation I’d do afternoon as well. I drink absolutely loads so my wee would be so diluted but I’d still always see the rise anyway, just not as dark as other people would get!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 08/03/2023 21:22

I use the ones that go with the Fertility Monitor they are in a purple wrapper. I have also used easy@home cheap ones along side it.

LH is highest in the afternoon and evening so it’s best to do OPKs then. No idea why Clearblue would say FMU but I wouldn’t use those anyway, cheapy sticks are fine and line progression is still helpful as you want to aim for the days before ovulation as well. One early afternoon and another in the evening is great.

Kirstylvsya · 08/03/2023 21:29

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 yes that's my plan. I've got the pink ones (circle or smiley) the purple was too complicated for me

@BuffaloCauliflower that's what I'm trying to avoid. I drink 2-3L water a day and wouldn't be able to hold for 4 hours in the afternoon/evening. Will try morning and see how it goes.

@Kirstylvsya I had confirmed ovulation with a 21 day blood test every month last year as was on medication and they was spot on. I did some months also use the easy @ home in the evening to check when im close to "peak" just incase but I had no issues with FMU

Darcy86 · 08/03/2023 22:16

Also use the clearblue pink ones and always use FMU as well. Not had an issue so far (that I'm aware of anyway!)

Emmamoo89 · 09/03/2023 22:18

I use fmu. Got peak and fell pregnant 😊

Clearblue are so much easier to read and more accurate. The advanced ones detect 2 hormones and they say fmu just because. I use fmu with normal opks with no issues. Got peak and fell pregnant

Kirstylvsya · 09/03/2023 23:01

@Emmamoo89 that's amazing. Gives me hope. My plan is to use cheapys and confirm with clear blue when I get peak. I've already done one clear blue just so it knows my low LH levels.

If you're using the easy@home cheapies the premom app is great to track them and it's free x
