Hi everyone - ill try to keep this short!
I am 30 (partner is 31) and we have been TTC for about 6-7 months now properly since coming off the pill 2 years ago.
My cycle is fairly regular usually 25 days but sometimes anywhere from 22 - 26 days and i usually spot 1-2 days before AF.

I usually get a positive OPK Day 15/16 leaving me with a pretty short LP. For the last 2 cycles i started taking COQ10 & a high strength Omega 3 and my last positive OPK was day 13 which is great, but my cycle was also only 23 days so hasnt really helped lengthened my LP.

i’ve read bout Agnus Castus but im wary around it messing my cycle up. Can anyone recommend anything else? It is starting to get to me every time AF comes! Also any success stories on a short LP?

Super b complex is supposed to help. How long is your luteal phase?

Twoinapod · 07/03/2023 08:40

Vitamin C and B6 are supposed to be good for increasing LP.

LouH93 · 07/03/2023 12:04

I already take vitamin B6 !

I take -
Pre pregnancy multivitamin inc Folic Acid
COQ10
B6
High strength Vitamin C
Omega 3

My LP is usually around 8 days.

I do also have Thyroid issues which i do have medication for - but is possibly causing issues. Just seems like the odds are against us!

Hi just wondering if you managed to lengthen your luteal phase at all? Currently going through a similar thing and feel like nothing is working

Fizxy · 28/04/2025 11:08

I did acupuncture to lengthen mine if that helps :). I was pregnant within a few months both times - could have been coincidence but I think it helped

Lulu89x · 28/04/2025 11:41

Pardon my ignorance but why is it important to lengthen your luteal phase?

My periods are also quite short - 25 days on average and I ovulate anywhere between CD 10-12. This has been consistent with tracking my cycle for 3.5 years (ironically to avoid pregnancy)

In November I ovulated four days earlier than expected and fell pregnant..

daisy2025 · 28/04/2025 13:40

@Fizxythanks thats really good to hear I will give it a try, how many sessions did you do to see a difference?

@Lulu89xI think the longer your luteal phase is the better chance of implantation. My cycles are around 28 days and I ovulate CD 18-19 so my luteal phase is usually 8 days which is considered short

Fizxy · 28/04/2025 13:55

@Lulu89xif you’re luteal phase is less than 9-10 days it’s meant to give you less chance of the egg implanting as it doesn’t have time before your period starts. If you have shorter cycles but ovulate earlier then I don’t think this is a problem. I used to ovulate around day 18/19 and have a 27/28 day cycle so I wanted to try and lengthen my luteal phase to give an egg a bit longer to implant.

@daisy2025my luteal phase started lengthening straight away if I remember rightly. I seem to recall it increased a day or 2 and then on the 3rd month after starting both times I fell pregnant. My acupuncturist gave me the best times in my cycle to go but I think I only went twice during each cycle so it wasn’t too bad!

@Fizxy @daisy2025 Ah ok, thanks! Learn something new every day :)

daisy2025 · 02/05/2025 09:53

@Fizxyoh that’s amazing! I have booked my first acupuncture session for a few days time so hoping it’ll work for me 🙂
