CD 2 on month 4 and looking for cycle buddies to get me through the next month!

Am 31 (32 in May!) Partner is also 32 and we're ttc#1. I've stocked up on opks and will be temping for first time this month. Have a 27/28 cycle... Who's with me?!

Hi @Pbubz I'm cycle day 5 ttc baby number 1 and this is my 3rd cycle I'm 32 and will be 33 in a few months. 💕💕 been using clear blue ovulation tests I have just ordered pre mom ones to compare x

MrsSB2023 · 05/03/2023 12:17

Hey
I’m out too. AF arrived today a week late after having faint positives this week followed by BFNs so definitely a chemical 😔
This is cycle 3 for us TTC number 4. Never had a problem conceiving before and always happened really easily but I’m 38 now so well aware it’ll take longer!
Been using CB digital for ovulation tracking but may switch to cheapies this cycle 💗

lucya66 · 05/03/2023 13:09

I was using clear blue and got a static smiley but never used standard opks to compare. Just going to use the strips now (mainly because I can use them multiple times a day haha!) Also going to try a version of SMEP, cus don't think we've been dtd enough in the past. Not sure I can manage every other day from end of my period haha so just going to do every other day during fertile days and then every day for 3 days from positive opk... I think that's about right!! Good luck - keep us updated!

Oo I've heard good things about conceive plus, maybe I should get some. I don't always get ewcm. I've heard pre-seed is good too but that you have to use quite a lot and that it can make it feel a bit too wet down there... Hope this is your month!

Ohh no that's sucks about the faint positives and then AF arriving. I got so excited because I had a definitely line on an internet cheapies at 10dpo but then nothing but stark negatives on the same and 3 different brands so assuming it was a faulty test or just a horrendous pink indent.

I've also been pregnant before, and it literally happened when I wasn't tracking, we had sex once that month and my hubby pulled out!!!! I don't have any children though. Now I'm actually trying it seems so hard 😞 I know 4 months isn't long and lots of couple take a lot longer but you also hear of people getting pregnant their first go.

My mum and step mum had their second babies at 39 and a lady I work with is pregnant at 41! Baby dust for you xxx

MrsSB2023 · 05/03/2023 16:23

@Pbubz I agree it’s definitely harder when you’re actually trying! Previously I have gotten pregnant whilst I had the coil in which is virtually impossible and when using condoms so have taken fertility very much for granted. I have so much respect for the women who try for years because it’s such a heart wrenching slog, I honestly am astounded at the strength of some people. I think we will try this year and if it doesn’t happen we will stop as I don’t think I’m strong enough to do it for more than that!
I don’t know whether to not track this month take a more chilled out approach or what, feel like it just consumes my every thought when I know when I’ve ovulated etc. May just try DTD every other day after AF pisses off haha

Pbubz · 05/03/2023 16:35

@MrsSB2023 completely agree! I totally took it for granted and didn't appreciate how lucky I was last year.

I think the relaxed approach is probably best to be honest, I know I stress out when I'm tracking but I didn't track last month and have never temped so I thought I'd do it for a couple months to reassure myself everything is working and then go back to good old fashioned dtd as much as possible lol. Either way I stress out last 2 weeks of my cycle and start testing way too early. Really going to try and not test early this time as I've had some horrible false hope which just makes it's so much worse!

Also going to try a book a holiday if I can afford one as need a bloody break and think may be some sun and relaxation will help.

I’ll join! Been trying a few months. AF came today. Ordered clear blue digital ovulation kit as well today as I’m obviously doing something wrong and I’m guessing just following an AP that suggests when you’re ovulating is the most effective way.

This is the first time I’ve had a few years about it. 5 years ago I had an abortion. I don’t want to go into the reasons behind this but now it’s like Karma and it’s not happening.

Dreamer88 · 05/03/2023 16:43

*isn’t the most effective way.

MrsSB2023 · 05/03/2023 19:17

@Dreamer88 Hey, don’t feel bad I had a termination too when I was 19, I was in uni and still living at home and it just wasn’t the right time. I got pregnant again with no issues when the time was right so it’s completely possible to conceive again. I know what you mean about karma though because I’m having exactly the same feelings although hubby thinks I’m crazy to think like this you can’t help it can you. It will happen for you, monitoring ovulation will definitely help get a better idea of what’s going on. I always thought I ovulated around CD14 but since using the CB digital I’ve realised it’s more like CD18-20!

Dreamer88 · 05/03/2023 19:24

Yeah, it’s like you feel guilty about a choice that was right for you at the time. I’ve no idea about when I have been ovulating because the app I’m on just gives an average on a 30 day cycle. But I can have one cycle that’s 30 then a couple of months later it’s 34 days and then 29 and then back to 30 for a couple of months.

Got to stop reading all the reviews though as it’s addictive! All consuming. I don’t really want to go into work tomorrow but at least I know that it will occupy my mind on something else until trying again this month.

How long have you been trying?

Feliciacat · 05/03/2023 19:25

@Dreamer88 and @MrsSB2023 I’m sorry to hear you’ve been feeling like karma is punishing you. Of course you can’t help feeling like that even though you know it’s not true.

I just wanted to reiterate that life is random and chaotic and you’d be in the same situation whether you’d had terminations or not; conception just takes time. Also, karma affects you in the next life, not this one. So it’s definitely not karma ;) Karma also wouldn’t punish you for terminations; all religions do accept termination as far as I’m aware.

You’re both lovely and your future babies will be lucky to have you xxx

Dreamer88 · 05/03/2023 19:29

@Feliciacat a lovely message! Thanks. 🙂 Irrational thoughts just creep in.

I had one too. The reasons were right at the time and looking back, I know I did the right thing but it's hard now that I feel ready. No judgment from me at all. It's difficult and I try not to dwell on it, there's no point. Sometimes I think it's karma as well because when I got pregnant last time it just happened so easily and I was so terrified and full of dread.

Ultimately, and I hope you feel the same, I try to tell myself that I wouldn't have been as good a mum then then I will be now because I was really not in a good place.

Hugs and love to you, don't blame yourself. It will happen for us xx

@Feliciacat thank you so much that’s lovely. I’m an over thinker and my mind runs away with me sometimes xx

MrsSB2023 · 05/03/2023 20:17

@Pbubz thats a really good point. Hopefully this is our month xx

Kirstylvsya · 06/03/2023 19:47

Hi. CD8. Don't ovulate until around CD20. Going to try temping this month to confirm ovulation PCOS x

LBttc · 06/03/2023 21:19

Very same as you! 31, husband is 32 and TTC number 1! AF due 16th of this month so.im.in TWW now. Feeling optimistic, we have just started trying this month as last month my cycle was insane (I had to take period delay pill for my wedding in November and knocked me out of sync). Have an underactive thyroid that is is well under control, that's my onlu wild card. Hope you are doing okay, it's so hard not to become consumed x

You don't need to use a lot of preseed 😊 got me pregnant. Also used a soft cup. Don't like conceive plus.

NayNay03 · 07/03/2023 07:36

Hi Ladies, 🤗
id like to join in.. I am currently CD15 Today with a 30-32 day cycle.🙄
This is my first month trying.. TTC#2.. So stressful hence i'm not sure when is the O date..

Katiex84x · 07/03/2023 10:46

@Emmamoo89 how does the soft cup work if you don’t mind me asking

TunnocksTCake · 08/03/2023 13:55

Joining in after a chemical last month. Cycle 5 of TTC no2 and on cd 8. Finally stopped bleeding today after 8 whole days (period is usually 4!) and hoping the chemical hasn't messed up my cycle too much.
Will do a version of SMEP and use conceive plus, CB digis and ic OPKs haha I like to cover all bases.
I conceived my daughter the month after a chemical by using all the above so hoping this is our month (but also trying not to get my hopes up!)

Emmamoo89 · 11/03/2023 10:25

Katiex84x · 07/03/2023 10:46

@Emmamoo89 how does the soft cup work if you don’t mind me asking

It keeps all the sperm in. I leave it in for 12 hours. Put it in straight after sex.

Pbubz · 14/03/2023 22:00

Im so rubbish at bbt think I'll have to start again with it next month! Keep forgetting or not getting enough sleep! Lh strips are rising though! Good luck everyone!!
